Lacquer applied decal with the lacquer applied over the decal as well on the M35, I can still see the lacquer line just beyond the borders of the decal.. Quist only made a few short runs of the M42, they never even paused M40 production and made the M40 until the end of production for Quist. Quist used MANY different letter prefixes before the lot number, the difference is being side marked Factory+Size stamps versus rear marked. That Quist M42 had some sort of defect and had a bead rolled into it for issue to Luftschutz. That smock is Sumpfmuster/Marsh pattern, more rare than others and NO Sumpfmuster/Marsh pattern cloth helmet covers were ever made by the factory, if you see one it's either field made or a post war fake, as stocks of that material were found post war. The order of no decals came in August to October 1943, Police etc being an exception and SS being the last combat helmets to not receive a decal from the factory.
Hey Zander, if you could have some slightly longer and closer shots of your new pieces like you have done in the past it would be great. So much better to see them in the round instead of just photos. You always have such beautiful items and as Carl said it helps us learn. Love it, please keep them comming.
