Thank you Mary and I appreciate that! I’m very excited to watch it develop. I will be measuring it soon to watch its progress. Stay tuned! Thanks for stopping in!
Clive Steers yes you absolutely did. That’s a fish Nicole wanted to add to our collection and someone is definitely going to get a beautiful piece to add to their collection. Great eye!
Man you guys are so lucky to have such a long season growing season. I love your videos and the great quality fish you get in. Another month and a bit I will have to winterize and bring some of my fish in. The next time I in NC I definitely plan on checking out your business. I was around there in Jan of this year with my son as we took in a few minor hockey games to break up our long winter. Cheers.
Chris Stubbings thanks buddy! We are very happy to hear you’re enjoying them and commenting and we are definitely fortunate that our winters are so short. I think we went less than 10 days last year not feeding because of temps. If ever in town, we’d be happy to let the kids feed the fish.
Chris Stubbings it definitely has it perks here. Downside is that we roast in the summer and many ponds need extra care due to the heat. All in all a good place to have a koi pond.
@@CapeFearKoi Our summer has been gross hot..mid 80s without humidex.. Not as hot as yours probably but definitely uncomfortable to us. Fish have been growing well. Lots of water changes.
LOVED THE VIDEO AND THE KOI!!!! I am going to build me a KOI pond,, i am sold on the idea now!!!! I live just around the corner from you,,,would love to come buy your place sometime and get some ideas and insight
Very nice shipment. Saw some very good quality utsuri and showa in that large group. Those two varieties are my favorite. Did I see a goromo in that grouping? That showa you picked out for yourself sure has a clean clear white on it. I think its going to be a beautiful koi in a few years. Not that it not a very nice fish now but the sumi I think will really punch out. Again thanks for the vid and the tips. Good to see someone in the trade not upselling everything i.e. the salt.
Thanks Chris. I’m glad you enjoyed it. You did see a Goromo. I only had one in that group, so good eye. I don’t get them too often and they go quickly. It was a very nice one and is going to make a nice addition and I im definitely looking forward to the Showa. I keep imagining the Sumi when finished and I think it will be even better. Thanks for stopping in to say hi and see you on the next one.
Heck yeah! John Wick in the house!! 😆 Glad you liked them! Others did too since they sold quickly. I only have a few butterfly left but they will sell in the Spring.
HotLine Pressure Washing that is the Goshiki. Most definitely a beautiful fish. I like them so much, I have 2 tosai growing in my personal pond and very excited to watch them grow.
To keep things simple, try and do 20-25 percent every 2 weeks to help remove old water. That should help keep the water fresh and clean as well as healthier for your fish.
Why wasn't the UPS guy wearing a mask and gloves. I hope u all washed your hands after handling the boxes. Got to stay safe. Beautiful fish. Lovely colours. I have 2 yellow butterfly..stunning fish. Not as big as your two though. I'm surprised so many fish get put into one bag.
David Marks I’m always surprised how many fish go in one bag. Those large butterfly in the order were for customers and 2 are going in a pond at a local restaurant for the owner and patrons to enjoy. If you click on the video that is pinned at the top here, those fish coming from Japan were in the bags for about 64 hours due to a delay. Miraculously we did lose a fish out of 7,400!!
@@CapeFearKoi Thanks for the fast answer! Those are my favorite 💕, now I know their name and can learn more about them. Are they one of the more expensive kind, or is the type of koi not as important as the lineage? Sorry for bugging you with all these questions, but I've always been interested, but never really had any one to ask.
Your mistake you did was mixing up the water in the bags and your water. You must removed any fish from its water using a net and putting them in your water that's the best way. If not your pond water will be at a very bad level of unwanted things
Koi Ponds we salt heavily in the beginning for contamination and stress. Our sock net is a draining type so we don’t introduce unwanted water. We mix the two 50/50 in a separate tub to get them acclimated to another environment to reduce stress. The net is dedicated to the small pond only and each pond I have has its own dedicated net. The qt only receives fish my supplier, so bio security is ok in check.
