The Charging indicator started to blink red around 6:18, could you clarify what this means for me? I have a Wireless charger base for my iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch, the issue with it is that it’s really easy for both sides to keep charging my phone or earbuds, since this light was blinking red I would assume that it stopped charging? Despite this minor concern of mine, the product still looks great and I would love to see you do a full on review! (Think this would go perfect with that Super Ultrawide 😉)

A wireless charger for phone and AirPods will run you 150 to 200, usb c dock runs you 50 and iPad dock wil run you another 50 to 100. So your around 250 to 350 to piece it together yourself.

Absolutely would love a full review. I almost pre-ordered the StudioDock, but having a hard time justifying the expense. A “Chris” review (always honest and detailed) about not only the product, but any benefits or improvements to workflows would be super helpful to many. Does this open any previously unexplored possibilities? Does the convenience outweigh the cost? Does it make it easier to spend even more time with the iPad? What tasks does this make easier / better? Those are the kinds of questions a deep dive review after using it for a few weeks should cover. Thanks, Chris. You’re the best in the business!

Using the iPad Pro on a stand with keyboard nad magic track pad made me stay in my office a lot more. It’s so much faster than any laptop I currently use. And it’s great for video calls. Because you can move the tablet into portrait mode for better video call angles. This thing has over 10 billion transistors. So it’s a beast when put to work.

It is awsome, I love that it has some moreUSB A ports, I can set up a CD-ROM to run my Printer software so that I can use my printer with it. That stand is similar to the Pro Display stand. Can you lay your watch on the base if you don't have any earpods (I use my Hearing Aids)? So I want one, for the 2021 12.9 inch I-Pad Pro that I am planning to get as soon as they come out. Where did you get that stand?

Nice video. I looked at the StudioDock about 2 weeks ago and was also impressed at its possibilities. It’s going at about the same price as Apple’s Magic keyboard. So right now I’m at a tossup between the two - the StudioDock and Apple’s Magic Keyboard, Which one would you go with or would you get both? Also, to answer your question, i would like to see you do a full review.

I like the fact that the iPad Pro can also be used portrait orientation. For some tasks that will work better. The price is high for hobby use, but acceptable for professional business use - but I am not personally convinced I have a need for this product

- Hotels could use a universal version of this for desks in the fancy rooms. - The charging LEDs should be on the inside neck. (Phone hides the second one). - I’m getting one for my desk if DUET automatically kicks in on my windows PC and makes the iPad a additional monitor (through the HDMI on base. And when I grab it and go the PC just disconnects that “monitor”. You think it can do that?

@@InappropriateShorts I feel like there’s no time that’s a bad time for the Magic Keyboard (unless you’re in reading/tablet mode). If I need to type all day on the iPad, nothing beats the feeling of the Magic Keyboard.

ok, I get the whole, have all your devices connected to one station. But how does that offer more versatility, especially if someone has already bought the Magic Keyboard case, monitor, apple dual charger and etc...? Also, the majority of the ports are on the back, which would mean if I were to hook up anything, I would either A) have to get up and plug in whatever I need to plug in or B) Already have what I use plugged in beforehand.

Many folks have commented on the price. I do appreciate that money is important and we should not be wasting it, but this is clearly more than just a boring dock. It has multiple functions and serves those who have an iPad and need a desktop set up. That does not come cheap, but it is definitely better than buying a whole new computer in its place. Please no one comment about how cheap laptops can be. By the time you have bought multiple crap ones, you will have spent the same cash on one half decent one that actually keeps working. My MacBook Pro is from 2016 and is a perfect case in point. The only thing that could be considered a potential downside would be if Apple changes the physical format of the iPad. Otherwise this would be a great product to use with subsequent iPads across perhaps 5 to 10 years. A long term review is definitely in order!

Enjoyed the video and your enthusiastic initial findings. Would love to see a full review after a few months; I am currently waiting for the new iPad Pro 12.9inch with 512GB Wi-fi. My intention is to get rid of my Windows PC and run Microsoft Office on the iPad as my only computer. So the Kensington Studiodock looks like it would be a good addition to my desk setup, eliminating the sore neck through constantly looking down.

Great video. Nice stand. A lot of cool features apart from high adjustment. Too expensive for just a stand. I wonder if they sold more if the price was $199 instead of $399. And the mouse for pennies - it is good to have cheaper alternatives. Or not cheaper - more reasonable.

I like the idea and the aesthetics but its a bit overkill for the price. Most people who have the iPad Pro also have the magic keyboard (which offers better viewing angles), chargers for all other devices. With the addition of a $5.00 amazon basics usbc to HDMI cable you’d have the same set up.

Kensington makes quality products. I've been using the various versions of the Kensington Expert Mouse for years. I've also used several of their portability products in the past... The price on this one is just too high. If it was between $150 and $200 then I might be sold. $399 is just too high, though it is a nice piece of kit. With the upgrade cycle on mobile devices I just can't justify that much.

For all of you complaining about the price, the Magic keyboard is 349.00, 1 port only and not near as flexible. Yes you get a keyboard, mobility but really? This makes for the ultimate IPad minimalist desktop set up with a wireless Bluetooth or wired keyboard/mouse of your choice!!!.

If Apple wants to really be serious about this being an laptop replacement, it needs to act like one when you plug it into a monitor. I hope the next version of iPadOS they make it better when you are at a desk and plug in a keyboard, mouse and monitor.
