I had RNY Gastric Bypass on December 1, 2020 at Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Rodriguez Lopez. There's a lot of talk out there about what is and isn't necessary in terms of exercise, not just after surgery, but for weight loss in general. I wanted to highlight and unpack some of the ideas revolving around exercise and activity. The exercise tip the industry doesn't want you to know? Finding an activity that you love that gets you moving and keeps you active is more important than busting your butt at the gym, almost every time. I mean, unless you're trying to be Arnold Schwarzenegger or something.

Heck yes! Yard work is great exercise!! We have a garden and that is a ton of work, but the rewards are so worth it ❤️. You are so inspiring to me!

Enjoyed this video. Yes, yard work is good exercise! Looks lovely. I live on about 3 acres and every year it seems to grow in nearer to the house. So I see how things can grow up around the house. You look lovely and are doing so well with your program! Have a wonderful day. Take care.

Thank you so much! It sounds like you definitely understand the struggle! I'm hoping to finally be able to stay on top of it. We have just under an acre here so I can't even imagine trying to keep up with 3!

I can go 30 minutes on my elliptical and get 5 miles in. Might be a little tired afterward, but no biggie, it wears off in a little while. Doing yardwork... Oof. I'm sitting here right now, my whole body is sore, I'm exhausted and still so sweaty - even though I stopped a few hours ago... My step tracker says 5083 - so a little over 2.5 miles. Yeah, yard work is a *much* more effective workout, in my opinion.

You have an awesome yard! Good job with the clearing and cutting! Are you going to make a garden? Take a look at Becky at Acre Homestead, she is in the Portland area. Her RU-vid channel is informative. I get my exercise from my garden and chickens! I have a bunch of cucumbers, okra and squash getting ready to pick but my peas, tomatoes and beans are looking pitiful! Not bad for a first garden! Keep up the good work and welcome to “onederland”!

Yes, we definitely plan to get gardens going eventually - flowers and food. Our next step now that all of the blackberries and brush has been removed is to prune and shape our trees and bushes. Some of that will have to wait until this winter, but once we shape some of the trees and get a bunch of weed-eating done, I'll work on edging and digging out the buried flower garden first. I hope to get everything prepped so that next spring I can plant my vegetable garden, but there's a bunch of refuse and branches and things that need to be removed where I want to put it, so it's still a mighty large project haha
