I am 39 and a single mother of two (21 and 11. I have been a Mormon all of my life. I remember clearly a dream I had when I got my endowments; I was embraced by The Lord and I was happy. Today I talked to my kids about the church not being true. I have never felt so happy for sharing what I’ve come to learn. I love The Lord and HE is the one to follow. My kids and I will be OK.

I was a convert to the church for 35 years. As a Black man I remember my family being the only family of color. Baptized when I was 11 years of age I grew up in all the church programs including Primary, Young Men's, went on a mission from 1987-89. I came home from a mission and entered university. I received 3 degrees and learned to think critically. Married in Salt lake temple which was huge being that I was and am from Canada. I cannot understand how intelligent people still believe in Joseph Smith and the ever changing doctrines of the church. I lived with companions mainly from Utah, California, Idaho, Arizona, Alberta...etc. I was the only Black person on my mission.... Canada Toronto Mission. My advice to anyone looking into to the church is to investigate it.....especially Joseph Smiths life. Needless to say....I no longer am a Mormon.

Eddie, Your LDS credentials mean nothing now that you're a quitter. As a failed LDS you have nowhere else to go. Every other church is just as false as it was when Brother Joseph was alive. You needed an excuse to fail and you found it. If you ever see the painting of the "Tree of Life," you're the one who is scurrying to the great building. You're just one more deadbeat loser.

@@nicolesnyder6818 sometimes the truth hurts. The true church of Jesus Christ remains well hidden before the eyes of the world and can only be deciphered through the Holy Ghost. I don't care if people leave the church. What I can't deal with are advertisers who cry about it on an open internet like it's some great thing. I stand on my words and if some ex-LDS deadbeat wants to cry and moan about the big bad LDS church they open themselves up to whatever. Just like you are giving me grief for calling Eddie Bruce a loser.

Grant, I love your books, and all the interview work you have done. I value truth and integrity above loyalty. I believe in being honest, and true. You are a beacon in a world full of confusion, and contradiction. I see in you the example of the Savior. You have gone after, and cared for his lost sheep. I have been a life long member, and have done everything the church asked me to do. I am an Eagle Scout, I served a honorable mission, married a wonderful beautiful wife in the temple, been Elders Quorum President, taught/served the youth, and raising a family of four children. Me and my wife were TBM's. Months ago a family member was experiencing deep problems in the church. Me, and my wife dove right in to help, believing that as Pres. Hinckley said "our history is an open book". I never thought in my wildest dreams that the church had so many deep dark secrets. I never thought it would be from within the organization of the LDS church that I would receive my greatest trial of faith. As I navigated through the wake of disturbing truth, your knowledge helped me make reason of it all, and put the pieces together. In a world where 55% of people in my shoes become Atheist, you helped keep my faith in Christ intact. The truth is the future of the church is in danger because of the mistruths that the leaders of the church continue to side step. I taught as a missionary that the cornerstone of our religion was the Book of Mormon, and modern day prophets. That as countless Prophets/Apostles have testified, the truthfulness of the whole church hinges on that point. I taught for two years that by their fruits ye shall know them. I had taught hundreds of people only a part of the actual truth. What I have discovered from the church's own historical records, is that Joseph Smith is not even a quarter the man a prophet should be. I have realized he is no more than a man with ideas mingled with scripture than anything else. I stand for truth, truth that the church proclaims to stand for (13 article of faith), but hides from when confronted with. You are a leader of Christ sheep, and resemble everything the church teaches that we should be. Active in learning, seeking the truth, helping those around us, and lending our time freely to those who's hands now hang down. We love you, thank you for the work you have done, and continue to do. If there are elect you will stand, and be number with them!

I remember that in 1982 at a BYU talk, Bruce R. McConkie told everyone that it was wrong to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Here is Grant Palmer telling us that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing. And he's right! I have eschewed the Mormon scriptures and am reading the Bible like crazy. God the Father presented us with Jesus for a reason, and it was not just so we can say "in the name of Jesus Christ" at the end of prayers and talks.

The second coming of the Lord by the end of 1891. (History of the Church, vol. 2, p. 189) The prophecy that the temple would be built in Missouri within Smith's Generation (Doctrines and Covenants 84:2-5, 31) All Nations would be involved in the American Civil War (Doctrine and Covenants 87:1-3). Prophecy that the earth will tremble and the sun be hidden in "not many days" (Doctrine and Covenants 88:87). David W. Patten to go on a mission (Doctrine & Covenants 114:1) in the American Civil War (Doctrine and Covenants 87:1-3). The United States Government to be overthrown in a few years (History of the Church, Vol. 5, page 394). Finding Treasure in Salem, Massachusetts Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Salem, Massachusetts, August 6, 1836. HC 2:465-466. How can a man pretending he saw God and Jesus-Christ, did join the Methodist church, after being told ''I was answered that I must join none of them (churches), for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” Joseph Smith also join the freemasonry in Nauvoo in march 1842 and got in few days the 33 degree). Soon after joining Freemasonry, Smith introduced a temple endowment ceremony including a number of symbolic elements that were essentially the same as their analogues within Freemasonry. Smith remained a Freemason until his death; however, later leaders in the movement have distanced themselves from Freemasonry. In modern times, The Mormon Church Hides its True History. Don't be afraid to read the words of Elder Packer ' First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve statement, Sunstone, 16:6, no. 92, November 1993, p. 72; www.mormonismi.net/artikkelit/puhdistus1993.shtml “I have a hard time with historians... because they idolize the truth. The truth is not uplifting; it destroys. Historians should tell only that part of the truth that is inspiring and uplifting.” Joseph Smith's plural secret marriage, 34 wives, 11 of them were married to living husbands, some of them, had been sent on a mission by Joseph Smith. Please do not call members or people who seek the truth ''antimormons'' cause I repeat, we love faithful members who are victims. Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse! When I read that scripture my thougt goes directly to the ''so called angel Moroni'' who brought a new Gospel . Now you will find thousand of people who went to Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, The city of David, Mount Sinai, Mount of Beatitudes, Golgotha Hill etc... Please show me one single person who went to visit : City of Ammonihah, Land of Amulon, Land of Antionum, Antiparah, City of Lemuel, Moriancumer, City of Mulek.

I wonder about the white shirts. When I was an active LDS youth, the men didn't always wear a white shirt to church. I was struck by the white shirts last time I dirtied up the church by attending. I took it to mean there was some kind of shift to more strictness, more conformity, more uniformity than I remembered.

I have been so disgusted by the "white shirt" thing. I saw the movie "Apollo 13" and thought that the LDS church must have a bunch of missionaries at the consoles... seriously. What does a white shirt have to do with righteousness? nothing. Nada. It is more evidence of an Old Testament church where there are rituals and rigid adherence to them. A church opened in our neighborhood; a small rural town of 60 people, surrounded by other small towns. They moved Iinto a disused historic clipboard church. I was there right away. The minister asked me What is most needed in this area? What are the biggest problems? You live here. Is it drinking, drugs poverty, domestic abuse? What do we do to bring the people in? I thought for a minute and said, They need Christ. Give them Christ and he will handle the drinking drugs etc. All that is from filling a void meant for Christ with other things. I also suggested a weekly prayer meeting .He didn't listen to either. I asked him for months for a weekly prayer meeting. He said he didn't have time? A minister with no time to pray isn't a minister. He's a community social director...which is what this church was. They closed a few months later.

Grant Palmer is right. The Mormon Church is not need; paying them 10% of your total income, their temple rituals, Masonic type handshakes, and underwear with sown in Masonic symbols. This is merely Mormons vain attempt to establish their own self-righteousness. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) Salvation is through repentance, and trust in Jesus Christ only. not through any church. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) “For the wages of sin is death; but THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST our Lord” (Romans 6:23)

I was a Jehovah's witness for years; who saw that my strongly held views as propagated by the Watchtower were false; was disfellowshipped, appealed the verdict-knowing that it would be rejected. We, former Jehovah's witnesses, are fellow pilgrims in the search for 'truth'! I can relate to many of the points that Grant expounds: I have listened attentively to all of Grant's videos (and those of other ex Mormons). One of my challenges is the position of Jesus in relation to Jehovah God (Elohim). I am prepared to accept the worship of the Son of God; yet giving "sacred service" (leutro) to the Father. A daily dilemma for me.

Grant Palmer is a man of great honesty, courage and integrity. He is a hero of the Mormon faith. I would rather trust him for my salvation, than Joseph Smith. If today's Mormon "prophet leaders" where like him, there would be so much less pain in making the faith transition in undoing those part of the Mormon doctrines that are unsustainable and have definitely not been commissioned by the Jesus Christ as we know him from first century history. Joseph Smith has projected his spiritual impressions on Jesus and attributed them to him. No matter how sincere Joseph was in his belief in Jesus Christ, some of his blasphemic and/or erroneous doctrines have to be discarded if they can't pass the test against the Bible. For all its imperfections, the Bible is still the best benchmark we have for a rational test of contemporary doctrines.

Spend time serving others, being Christ-like and a true follower of Christ. I would never ever imagine that Christ would spend time bringing people down. He would lift others up, show them the light, encourage and bring hope to those around Him. You talk of Mormonism and all the things they are doing like you know and remember. You haven't been to church in years. When I go to my Mormon ward Dad, I sit in my meetings and we discuss ideas, opinions and so many different topics. We talk of Christ, we learn of Christ, we plan Christ-centered activities and chances to serve friends, family and those in need. Every week that I attend church it is ALWAYS centered around Christ. I partake of the sacrament weekly and remember HIM. I renew my promises, covenants and love for my Savior. I feel of His love for me and know that He is real. You said that the leaders "don't care what we believe and just want us to tow the line." This is totally untrue. I would love to know, Dad, where you are getting all this information? I know you are a very smart and educated man. You are my Father and I love and respect you and have always respected your opinion. The process that I had to go through when all this came out was pure hell for me. I was questioning everything I was taught as a child and an adult. I started building my testimony over from scratch. I know the gospel is true! I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. He made mistakes, did some terrible things, acted in ways I know the Lord was not happy or pleased with him many times, he was a prophet, a man, not a God. I am sure the gospel is not perfect. The people in our Mormon past/heritage are not perfect and never claimed to be perfect. Yes, they probably screwed up way too many times to count. What I focus on and we should all focus on is the fruits of the churches labor: Service, Loving our neighbors, family and friends, Teaching, Understanding the Plan of Salvation, Forever Families, Hope in Christ, Missionary work--bringing the light of truth and happiness to others and accepting others. I am sure there are many that have been offended by someone when they went to church. Yep, that happens. It doesn't make the church untrue, it makes those people ding dongs...that is obviously someone that really needs to be at church, to partake of the sacrament and start over again. The church is still true. I guess that is the real reason we all go to church. We all make mistakes, we need our Savior, Jesus Christ to help us. I know I am going to get a public lashing of comments, but I don't care. I am not even going to read them. I just needed to write down what has been inside me for far too long. I would hope if anybody reads this, and maybe nobody will, that you will really think of why you are listening to my Dad. This is only his opinion of Mormonism. He is a man, not a prophet. He does not have all the answers. We will know and understand all things when we finally get to be with our Savior. In the meantime, I will continue to make the choice to follow what I believe, be a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ, try to do what is right, drive too fast :) , raise my 4 beautiful daughters in a church that teaches us to serve and love one another and become Christ-like people. I am proud to say that I am a Mormon!

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:1‭-‬10 KJV bible.com/bible/1/1jn.4.1-10.KJV

In the father-daughter testimonies exchange between Grant and Julie we have to consider that both parties have built their testimonies on information and feelings (read and pray). In looking at a certain limited amount of data they come up with differing conclusions about their truth and both feel that their spiritual feelings have validated their intellectual conclusions. For me after I have changed the input of data (to all data available) the intellectual conclusion of what is true and divine changed and with that the confirming feelings and their attribution to a source. That's why so many are afraid to look and so many are advised not to look. I am reminded of the GI-GO principle (garbage in garbage out) in that the output can never be correct if the input is flawed.

Grant Palmer is truly one of the greatest and spiritual men I have ever seen and heard. It is SO important to have truth in any religion. And people need to know about the PROBLEMS in the book of mormon and other related LDS text. Even Ruben Clark a general authority for the LDS church at one time mentioned: We want to know if the book of mormon is true, prove us wrong if it is not. We'll Grant has proved it and others as well. Truth in origination of scriptures is so important! Nobody should feel duped. Grant moved on to a higher level of truth and his daughter needs to accept that and respect that about her "BRILLIANT father. He is going to a good place for the work he as done because it is based on truth. There is a reason why no artifacts show up in book of mormon lands and people like Grant are bringing that important information out. Truth needs to come out whether it is in the LDS church or out of it. Nothing can not be Christ centered if the intent of the writer (Joseph Smith) was to deceive and deceive he sure did. Grant and others such as Simon Southerton have made that clear. And most of all and I am sure Grant will always express this, is that he is a follower of Jesus and doesn't want to feel duped.

Grant Palmer tells the truth about the Mormon Church. For members and apologists, that is difficult to hear & acknowledge. His book, "An Insiders View of Mormonism" is one of the best books out there for learning the facts & truth regarding Mormon church history. Palmer has been treated horribly by the church he gave over 30 years of selfless service to because he's had the courage & integrity to tell the truth. He is an incredible, humble, kind man & this interview is excellent.

Bro Palmer hints that Mormons can stay where they are and still have a relationship with Christ. Personally, I doubt that. At some point for the person that tries that will bump up against LDS teachings where they must choose to follow the prophet or to follow Christ, and in making that choice for Christ will find themselves in an LDS "court of love". IOW, how does such a person get through the typical "bishop's interview" where they'll be asked, "Do you hold Joseph Smith as a Prophet of God"?

Julie, I remember when my own father left the church. I had many conflicting feelings. The only thing I can say to you is that considering the great love and respect you had for your father, sit down with him and converse with him. Understand that the decisions he has made were not made lightly. Consider that the time and energy he puts into sharing his views is no different to the time and energy active members are encouraged to put into their own missionary work. Consider also that your father may indeed be bringing light, hope, and happiness to many. Each of us when we seek a testimony is told to read and study and seek the truth. To seek the truth you must first assume you don't already have it. I sense you love your father deeply, so as a loving daughter the only thing you can do is to listen to him. Look at whatever it is he would like you to look at. Talk with him openly, free of judgement and bias. If you do that and still find truth in the gospel then the gospel is where you belong.

I am sorry you feel this way about your Dad. He is a great man. After studying for years, getting a BYU law degree and looking at all the evidence it is clear that Mormonism is an obvious verifiable fraud. Your Dad is right. This isn't a matter of feeling. It is a matter of facts. You are denying reality for the sake of a false institution that was created by an obvious con man. Joseph Smith's documented behaviors are without doubt those of a con man, treasure hunter, and a serial adulterer. You are choosing lies over your father. I am tired of people accusing the truth tellers like your Dad of being the ones who are wrong. You really need to do more research. If you are seriously ok with Joseph Smith's deplorable conduct, then the Mormon Church is for you. But, you should never mock your father because he is telling the truth. There are 1000s of people who are leaving because they now realize the Church has been a fraud since it began. I am grateful to men like your Father. I feel sorry for you.

If LDS church leaders would have the same integrity and courage as Grant Palmer, they would present the facts, reform the Church and bring the changes to the congregation for a vote, rather than gradually adjusting the doctrines and mask the problems or paper over the cracks. It's very sad that Grant had to leave the LDS church - there are so many good members there and the LDS church is poorer for loosing its very best and true Christ believing members. Grant's hand was forced to preempt excommunication for speaking the whole truth. But looking a generation ahead members may no longer have to pay the price he paid. But we don't know, that's a secret.

Where are you are getting your information? I have studied the origins of the Bible extensively from many different sources. Which Bible stories are you referring to? Adam, Eve, Noah, and Babel, maybe. But remember oral traditions in preliterate cultures were quite reliable at transmission. But surely you're not saying that all Bible or even all Old Testament evens predate their written record by thousands of years. That sounds suspiciously like the ridiculous regurgitation of Mormon apologists.

no I havent seen Jesus, only upon the cross with a crown of thorns and nails. but I have felt the presence of the Lord in my life..which is what Palmer is saying. is not something to be taken litterally. only mentally as each person is searching for his will, those who know the Lord feels the spirit of God within, the Lord works in mysterious ways. Jesus said whosoever humbles himself as a little child the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said this to teach humility and joy.

An interview with an apostate who had doubts while teaching prisoners long before he even investigated the tabloid journalism full of lies and deceptions. I am only 12 minutes in and notice three things. The first is simple body language - a nervous twitch and a bit of looking around the room, rather than at the interviewer or the camera. Not much, but the second is more telling. He Says the youth program is his assessment of the best feature of the church after saying how successful his mission was. He does not say that the mission success was teaching the restoration, the nature of God, Book of Mormon and personal revelation while advertising the youth program was not a part of a missionary's teaching agenda. I know. I also served a mission and taught what he taught, and I can't recall recommending the youth program to anyone, let alone knowing it was not in my lesson material as a feature. If you were to ask any missionary today, they would tell you the same. The first vision, what the Godhead is really like, the BofM with its promise of personal revelation are the features of the church, while our youth program is virtually overlooked by them. Grant is on his own with this odd view, and it is there to divert attention from the really meaningful aspects of the gospel. It is deceiving people into thinking there is not much to Mormonism. Why, any club can have a great youth program. It is subtle and cunning mind manipulation. The third observation is that after saying the youth program used to be more social it became more spiritual, then he next says that the general teaching for adults used to be more spiritual, but has become a mile wide and an inch deep, so shallow it is, and they are guarded about deep and meaningful discussions. Again, not only is this an anomaly, it is more evident that he is deceiving us. I am 62 and have not observed this trend at all. The church has improved teaching methods, and the result is a more spiritual experience in classes. However, the church still maintains that a person be a member every hour of every day, and what they do in their whole lives determines how faithful they are, not by what is taught for 3 hours of the week.

+Rhomeo Manaog Thank you for some rare encouragement. These sites are evil, and there are dangers in reading the poison they spew. I do it for two reasons. A. Because they are a source of some weak members falling away. & B. Because Christians need to know the seriousness of their choices. Rejecting God's work for Satan's is no light matter. You know the truth, and you will have God's blessings as you endure to the end. Stay strong.

Hi, I have been an LDS member for 28 years, I served a two years mission and have held many church callings in various positions. Since that, I did serve with all my heart, until I started to ask myself questions... First of all, I would like to express the love I have for the members of the LDS church, who really try to give their best serving in the church and making a lot of sacrifices (money, time etc..). I consider members as victims of what is for me one of the biggest fraud in those last 2 centuries. We have to admit that the package seems really beautiful with ''The eternal marriage and eternal family throught the ordinances of the temple'',. The church emphasizes a lot on families. I have spent so many hours searching for the truth and it became more obvious to me that so many contradictions both in the book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenances can't come from God. (please read Deut 18 : 21-22) ''False prophecies made in the name of God'' (Joseph Smith just fouled himself by declaring that those prophecies were directly from God). FALSE PROPHECIES (Using LDS sources).

What reality should these people should know? I don't understand what you want them to believe in. seems to me that Palmer believes more in Christ than most people I seen. even to the point of tears. he also seems sincere which is an understatement. it doesn't look like he has a demon to me, on the contrary, he seems to be at peace with himself and others.

ok, but isnt that what Grant Palmer doing? discussing his personal beliefs? and since you said that you go to a synagogue, isnt that confession of your belief in Judaism? I'm confused here, or are you a buddist? a freemason? or are you an athiest? which begs the question, do you believe that Jesus was the son of God? Most Jews do not believe that Jesus was the messiah, but it would be interesting to know if you do.
