This video will go over how to reset the tire pressure monitoring system on a 2007 through 2023 Chevy silverado 1500, 2500 & 3500. This is one of the few exceptions where the function is almost entirely the same. There is small difference between the 2007-2014(gen 2) and 2015-2023(gen 3) which is explained in the video. I tried this process a while ago and the horn never sounded (I let a ton of pressure out of the tires before I realized it wasn't working). I appreciate that you pointed out that yours also had that issue and that I need to replace the sensors. No other video I watched made that clear. Thanks so much! I tried the let air air out of the tire. I went from 60psi to flat NO horn. I purchased the reset tool. Easy Now… but I have a problem as soon as I trigger tire 3 acknowledged the system leaves TPMS reset mode. I can’t get #4 tire done. Any Thoughts?

@@mikef6706 It probably a bad sensor in the tire. They have a little watch battery in them that fails and i won't reset or send any signal to the truck.

I love GM trucks. Their v8s are nice and bulletproof. We had a 09 Yukon 5.3L with over 200k miles before we got rid of it.

This one has the 6.6l diesel. I don't want to ever get rid of it because it is pre-def and its a good truck. It would be tough to replace it for under 100k now days.

Will this make you service stabillink light come on if they are bad?

I don't think so it shouldn't tell you they are bad. It just won't reset. I can't find a reference to stabilink but if you are talking about the information system. It won't tell you anything.

So i want to know is there anyway to shut off this system i grew up check the tires myself never needed a electronic gizmo to tell me that im 2 lbs low on the rear tires. I mean i went to school to learn how to do this. and I don't have the money to go to the tire shop to get these replaced. I just need to know is there anyway to shut this system off....or do i need a large black sticker to cover it.

This is a great question because i am old school when it comes to all this electronic stuff. The quick answer, e-tape over the light. As far as i know there is no way to shut the tire pressure monitoring system off. In most cases the sensors aren't overly priced but most people can't unmount the tires and program the sensors. Which is all an added cost. If this is the worst you have to deal with electronics, great, try to keep it that way. I just bought a new civic that will basically drive itself and i can't stand it. It also shuts the engine off at stop lights and i hate it. You have to remember to shut it off every time you start the car or it does it. There are so many warning and chimes it drives me nuts. What do you do when one sensor, mine being front left, shows --. I unplugged my negative terminal and it came back but then had the same issue after about 30 miles. Did it again still no sensor alarm but i only drove a few miles. Do you think its the battery in the sensor? Seems weird that disconnecting the main battery would show it again. It failed to sense when i tried your process the first time before unplugging the negative terminal. I have a 2012

Yeah, that is the battery in the sensor in the wheel, for sure. Disconnecting the battery just got it to read it for a second which is why you showed a reading. Once the car lost the signal it dropped it. It just means the battery is not totally dead. They are little cr2032 batteries that run those things and all they do is send out a small rf signal.

you need one of these tools amzn.to/4dUiqfL There is no other way to do it without some sort of fob to initiate the cycle.

I am not sure, i will have to check and get back to you probably tomorrow. They used like 3 different ones in these. I know it has the weird in-between engine between 07 and 08 but the trans, not sure.

Actually i was able to figure it out without looking at it. Chevy put the Allison 1000 on the 6.6l diesels.

What’s happens if your key fob doesn’t work?

Either replace the fob or take it to a place and have them do it for you. This is the only way to manually reset it. Most shops can reset it with a tool for the obd2 port or buy one of the tools(most expensive option).

Doesn't work on the WT or LT because they don't come with a FOB or have the Driver info buttons. Does anyone know how to reset them on the lower packaged trucks please reply. So far no one has a video on how to reset on the cheaper versions of the Silverado even though the have TPMS monitors.

Tpms systems were a newer option in these earlier years. If there is no way to interact with it. It may require an obd2 tire reader to reset. It also could be an aftermarket add on. Just some stuff to look into, hopefully that helps.

You would be to enter tpms learn mode with a scanner, then also use a tpms reset tool at each wheel. Like a El-50488

Try to scroll through the dash menu with the key on by pushing the odometer reset stick. Just push it in and u should eventually come to the tire monitor relearn option. Or whatever it's called. Once it comes up simply push down and hold the odo reset stick until the horn honks twice.

I had posted about this on another comment for this video. If the car doesn't have a remote. You have to use a calibration tool. I may have added a link to one in the description. If not let me know i can add one.
