Really liked that they have FloTro'd these. And now they are wider. Had problems being a widefooter with the original Anatomix ones and didn't really like the original cushon on those either. Now 10yrs older, Flo foam and being wider would be the selling points for me. Thanks again for the great review. Really appreciate your work.

So, following your advice, I've just bought a pair of Curry Spawn FloTro for tennis ... AND I LOVE'EM!!! I'm susceptible to minor tears in my MCL so I was looking for something with heaps of medial and lateral support. I came across your video of "are BB shoes the new tennis shoe" and everything you said made sense. It was one of those "of course! Why didn't I think of that before" moments 🤣 My feet measure 26.5cm so depending on the brand, I'm usually a UK 7-8 / US 8-9 (sometimes 10) / EU 40-42.5 with a wide 4E toe-box and narrow heel so often struggle to find a good fit. As a reference, for running shoes I wear an Asics Kayano 30 in a UK 8 / US 9 / EU 42.5 in a 4E width. I tried these Curry Spawn FloTros on in the store along with Curry 1 Retro, Curry 2 Retro, New Balance Two Way V4, Asics Gel Resolution 9 (2E) and Asics Court FF3 (standard). None of the others felt as soft as I'd like in the heel, or didn't lock my foot into the heel, or were wide enough, . The Asics Gel Resolution 9 (2E) would probably have been ok in an 8.5 but in little New Zealand it's a challenge finding 1/2 sizes and I would have liked to try them in a 4E. These Curry Spawn FloTros just felt right as soon as I put them on. They're not the kind of colour-way I'd normally chose but I've learned (the hard way) that fit, feel, comfort and function matter way more than looks! I did wonder if they would give enough heel cushioning though as they felt a little too firm in the store. I've just had my first training session on-court with these and they're so plush, solid, stable and grippy! No problems with the heel cushioning. I was thinking about ordering some Asics Gel Resolution 9s in the right size online but I'm not going to bother. If anything, I'd grab a 2nd pair of these. I know I'll need to watch the soles on the outdoor court but that's a happy trade-off for comfort and support. And they're not at all sluggish, either - in fact they do a good job of pushing me onto my toes and keeping me nimble. I'll see how they feel in a month ... I suspect I'll be deciding to buy a 2nd pair :) Thanks for all the work you put into your videos. The insight you provide is awesome and I'd rather put in a few hours' research online with videos like yours than wasting a whole weekend wandering around shops with part-time staff who don't really know what they're talking about (and most likely still not finding what I want / need). Keep up the great work!

Looks like an Anatomix with Flow midsole...I missed those shoes. So Comfy...that Micro G foam was the best back in the day

Hey Zac, in the future could you do a mention of the flexibility/torsion of the shoe? I primarily wear Kyrie 5s which I can barely bend the mid/outsole but recently got Sabrina 1s and was surprised with how much more twisting/bending of the shoe there is underfoot.

Hey Guys I've had this shoe for about two weeks now. In my opinion these are the best Curry's I've ever had (8, 9, 10, 11, 4 flotro) , honestly its his best shoe so far. But I have found they run a tad short nothin like the curry 9 though, I wear 13 but its more comfortable for me to go 13.5 so my toes don't bang in front as often. I have wide feet and 13 fits good, same with 13.5. But just be aware and id recommend buying both sizes and test, then return the one you like better. But yeah amazing review and everything was spot on :)

Damn, not too bad. I think the anatomix spawns have been an underrated series of shoes. Off topic doc, but what are your thoughts on the barefoot and wide foot shoes trend, for general day to day wear? The adverts are slowly breaking me down...

Haha the anatomic toebox i think is nice like in the Altra for daily wear- very comfy- barefoot is another beast. Barefoot shoes are not for everyone, especially people with structural issues ( no a barefoot shoe will not magically fix your foot if it did everyone would make them). Its really person-dependent, theyre a great training aid but just watch out for the obvious issues they bring to the table

Hey Zach, in this day and age why can't we have a barefoot basketball shoe that's any good? As a foot doctor, how do you feel about reviewing all these narrow shoes that destroy people's feet?

Not all are narrow, most hoop shoes now a days are pretty forgiving in the midfoot except for some brands, also a barefoot style basketball shoe is incredibly inefficient or everyone would make them. Also most people cant wear barefoot shoes due to STRUCTURAL issues in their feet which cant be fixed with a barefoot shoe no matter how much some will tell you. These companies are in the money making business, if there were a bigger market or need for them, they'd make them. I still think they're a fantastic training aid and that everyone should have a pair for proprioceptive and muscle training but IMO its not the end-all-be all.

@@FootDoctorZach why not have a basketball shoe which is shaped the way feet are actually shaped? All it takes is a brief look at Lebron's or Embiid's feet. That alone, I would think, should be enough reason for a market for basketball shoes with a wide toe box that's shaped like feet are actually shaped.

That’s like saying “ nike only uses zoom in the lebron line” ….. they do have other tech but flow is the best for the curry line, they have been through a few different non flow setups over the years just the last 3 models have been flow

I like that they do the flow shoes, its their "thing" which i like seeing the evolution of, but i agree it would be cool to get a rubber version of some of the newer ones just to see if the set-up works

@@FootDoctorZach that's because he gets a brand new pair for every game haha. For the average consumer like me, this material doesn't last long at all. It's hard to pay full retail price for something that will give you a few months of peak performance on the court.
