Let's be 100% honest here, a majority of fighting games have WACK combo trials that literally teach you the most impractical combos ever (looking at you King of Fighters 13). trials in fighting games like KOFXIII are not there to teach you stuff. they exist to test your execution. Under night's trials actually being somewhat optimal combos is nice to see

The thing is that the combos were close to optimal in st and they haven’t been updated for cl-r, but the fact that they teach good situational combos and most of these combos are still the basis of better bnb was legit

KOF 13's trials teach you grammar in the combos there really is a lot to learn. But they aren't specific optimal strings to be sure

Man, it's going to be a treat to watch Kizzie destroy these Under Night combos. I mean, I already enjoyed the Kizzie content, but there's a special enjoyment when he's blasting through a game you're really into.

Now that's what I like to see. Trials that seem actually useful to learn! I mean, to an extent, other trials in other games can give you an idea of what a given character can do with proper execution and all but even so, showing stuff like corner combos or screen carries or whatever are really cool.

Came back to UNI because the new Melty was announced. Realizing I’m still bad at inputs was discouraging, it’s relieving to see someone this good struggle with Hyde’s double quarter circle even if it’s at the end of a combo.

This and Them's Figthin' Herds are the only fighting games I know about that actually have great combo trials. (Also TFH lets you download community combo trials and import them directly into your game, so that's really nice, because the option is there to try the really hard stuff if you want to)

Xrd also gives somewhat practical combos. They aren't the best but they're damn close to the actual optimal depending on range and starter. You can figure out the rest anyways

These trials are not that optimal, but people don’t upload actual combo guides for this game and most don’t even know what changed in uniclr ver. So basically most people don’t know what they are doing.
