3:23 "We won't sell cigarettes to kids even if it's allowed." Utmost respect for this vendor, the kind of person who does the right thing regardless. A thousand blessings for that man.
Kids can't smoke Correction: -Nobody should smoke- Anyone can smoke. It's our decision after all. But we need to know the consequences of getting addicted to it.
The people who were kind enough to think about the boy and not the money they would make it of it are kind, and it's great to see some people refused. It's not good to see some of them didn't agree to sell them but in the other hand some maybe wanted to make their business for their family, not saying it's the right thing to do though. Anyways, this was very heart warming to see all those people refuse to the kid.
When the man said "It's not about the money. It's not about the profit. It's about being human.", warm my heart. God bless you sir. You are an example of a good father and citizen..
@@namjoonslostpassport2145 I know you are a free person and you can do whatever you want, but please take care of yourself well :) Smoking gives a bad impact to your body and it will continue to worsen as you grow up. While you are still young, please try to stop smoking... I know it's not any of my business and I have no clue on what is happening in your life, but living life is beautiful (even if it has its flaws too). I'm not forcing you or demanding you to do so, but as a fellow human being (and ARMY 😉), please take care of yourself! 💜 I purple you
@@namjoonslostpassport2145 i dont get how y'all are proud of it.. i dont know what you're going through or what your family/situation background is but know that smoking can lead to a lot if things that you'll regret as you grow up..
Its sad to see that lots of shopkeepers still sell cigarettes to the kid One shopkeeper even tells him how to get away with it ("tell them its for your dad")
Most of them do that because it's normal to send your child to buy them, or your younger brother, so they assume it's for an adult or parent or realitve
A lot of people think they're willingly selling cigs to this kid. In China, its very common for parents or grandparents to send their kids out to buy cigs plus it's already pretty frowned down upon for kids to be smoking so its not really a big deal if u see a kid tryna buy cigs cus u directly assume its for someone else.
But some people in this video asked in advance "you smoke?" "Yeah!" "Then you should smoke this one, it's lighter" Lighter doesn't mean that it's okay. One even said "if someone ask, don't tell anyone I sold these to you"... so some of them knew, but decided to turn blind eye
actually it’s very normal for a kid to drink alcohol in china. even though they have a age limit but no one obeys it. speaking from pov with close extended family from china. my aunt and uncles will pour a tiny amount of alcohol every now and then for my cousins ever since he was 1 year old. tho i haven’t really touched alcohol cause i wasn’t raised in china
Y oh yea there’s that too. i prob thought it was normal cause i technically grew up with them and they came from an underdeveloped village. most of them stopped school in their teenage years just to work.
Xplained sry my friend i perfectly know which part of the world my relatives are from. it’s prob just diff from what you know of china, we hv diff relatives after all :)
@@Joey-xy9qw Youre lying, you're obviously lying. You're talking sh*t on the internet, there are other Chinese people here too. Or you're not even Chinese. I have a lot of Chinese friends who live in China and they do not smoke or drink. If you smoke or drink in high school, middle school, elementary school or kindergarden you'll get suspended, your parents will get arrested and they will bring you to a "special school" where you learn how to stop smoking or drinking. This all even happens if you live in a small place in China. Chinese people do take care of this a lot. So stop lying.
I respect those vendors that actually cared for the kid and those that asked him first to whom it was for rather than giving it directly.. and the guy that said "i wouldnt sell them to kids even if it was allowed".. mad respect for y'all kind hearted people ♡
*I'm French 🇨🇵 and I love all your videos, socials experiments are so interesting. Thanks for subs-titles, I can understand the video ^^* In France, 30% people smoke, so I would that if my child try to have cigarettes, he can be stoped. Thanks for the video!
I remember watching a video where children approached someone smoking and asked if they could smoke. Then the people always declined. Then the children asked why THEY were smoking. Then they went silent. The children left and they were shown throwing the cigarettes away.

@Kc Ryan A lot of people China actually owns a dog. You can see people with dogs everywhere in the street, even in the uni. Don't generelize a country or assume stuff.
@Kc Ryan actually you should visit China in the future when it is safer. It's actually better than what I thought before I was there. They have pets dogs too and not all of them eat dogs
When i was young (maybe i was 15 at the time), the shopkeeper sold me cigarette without questioning. I got addicted for 12 years and thanfully i managed to quit. Never try smoking, it is addictive. If you are trying to quit, make sure that you are following it through, it’s okay that you failed (and you will) but consistency and determination will ultimately overcome the addiction. I am smoke free now for more than 5 years and never look back.
Great that you have quit! I've known friend's grand dad who smoked and passed away due to throat cancer. His last words were telling loved ones to never smoke.. hence if we are stressed we can do other things like go for a run, go for a swim or learn new skills like cooking etc to get away from the bad habit.
Some of them didn't realize he was buying the cigarettes for himself. They initially thought someone sent him to buy them, but as soon as they figured out the cigs were for personal use, they took them away and said he couldn't have them.
When I was 13 i use alcohol with my friends , and Now I'm atleast 16 , and really hate this kind of Alcoholic things.. Lots of love from Northeast india
The problem with anti-tobacco education in China is that most schools will only teach you that it is only harmful for kids to smoke, but not adults. In the US, we do a really good job educating both children and adults about the dangers of tobacco.
Sorry, no offense, but please don't just assume. In China, all cigarettes brands literally have "Smoking is bad for health" printed on the box. And there used to be anti-tobacco commercials everyday on TV, talking about what tobacco can do to human body. Primary schools nowadays even teach it in detail and every student have to take a test about it. To be fair, children smoking is indeed much worse than adults smoking when it comes to negative impacts on the body. It's reasonable that the vendors would only feel guilty selling cigarettes to kids. I don't know why you just point out that a problem that doesn't really exist. China's anti-tobacco education is alright. The problem is on how hard it is to change older people's mindset and how easily accessible cigarettes are. As you can see in the video, unlike some countries where you can only buy cigarettes in tobacco stores, in China you can buy cigarettes from most regular shops, no matter large or small. And smaller shops tend to turn a blind eye towards those unallowed purchases.
@@xiyuanchen1520 But I actually am Chinese. Maybe I just made an assumption because I am chinese-american. are you actually originally from mainland china? Because I'm sorry if I made that assumption.
@@laurent.9968 Sorry if I sounded a bit offensive or too certain. But yes I am from mainland China. Growing up, I really have nothing to complain about China's anti-tobacco education. That's just for me. I wouldn't say it's the best, but I'm pretty sure everyone in China knows cigarettes are no good for health, no matter adults or kids. However, the frustrating part is to actually let someone stop smoking. Older generations are stubborn. It's hard to change their mindset even after letting them know how bad tobacco is. Plus it's just way too easy to buy cigarettes in China. I think those are the actual problems with anti-tobacco in China, nothing to do with the education.
I live in the Netherlands, children here smoke when they are 14-15 cuz it’s “cool” it’s unbelievable that some shops really sell cigarettes to children
I’m Dutch as well, and I have to disagree. Maybe it depends on the province, but I don’t know a single kid under the age of 16 that smokes. And even the ones from 16 till 18 can’t buy the cigs themselves, they need adults to buy it for them.
Lightning Pillar kom maar naar Den Haag, Rotterdam en Amsterdam. Ik weet niet waar jij woont maar aan peukjes kom je makkelijk aan in Nederland, vraag aan een 18 jarige puber en ze kopen het gewoon voor je
Here where I live, I have seen many adults or parents send kids to a store to buy cigarettes for them. And what’s worst, the sellers don’t mind them buying. 😓
These kind of videos should be done more often and the shopkeepers who sold it to young ones should be given a warning in a proper way instead of offending or looking down on them cos for some its just their livelihood and their only source. 😐
@@maayanranson3251 yeah. there were some who said yes because they thought he was buying it for his parents, but when they found out he bought it for himself, they rejected. It's sad though that some adults don't care as long as they get their money.
I was stupid enough to start smoking when I was young and now I’m too weak to quit. Don’t make the same mistake, it isn’t worth it both health and financial wise.
In Singapore, anyone caught selling tobacco products to persons below the MLA (21 years old) is liable to a maximum fine of up to $5,000 for the first offence, and up to $10,000 for the second or subsequent offences.
My big brother used to send me to buy local tobacco for him when i was a kid ,, and now i use tobacco because of him .. what I’m trying to say please stop sending kids to buy for you a cigarettes or any kind of tobacco ,, because one day they will learn this bad habit from you
