Really good tips. Not enough teaching pros (almost none to be honest) discuss the need to have different swing paths and even slightly different grips depending on the height of the ball. If I had a $ for every time I've seen every teaching pro and youtube coach suggest that every topspin FH is 'low to high' - without mentioning the height of the incoming ball - I'd be rich. There's also seemingly this unspoken rule that you should move up or back so that pretty much every ground stroke is hit at the same waist height - as opposed to learning how to adjust your swing to hit high or low balls. To be fair, a fair # of people figure out how to adjust and hit low shots, but most club players are clueless about how to hit powerful shots up high. As a result, most club players give up a lot of court space & time trying to adjust to the ball instead of feeling comfortable keeping good court position & attacking balls from various heights and keeping tight to the baseline and/or coming in. Too many club players are also clueless about how to get the ball up & down on short balls or approach shots. Really liked the example in the video showing the student whipping up on the wide ball to curve it back into court ala Rafa-lite or even Pistol Pete on his infamous running FH. Most young players these days have grown up hitting with a semi-western grip and a lot of topspin (often too much and without enough variety) so they seem better equipped to deal with the aforementioned issues, but amongst us old school types - you see a ton of players at every club that can hit pretty ground strokes from the baseline on balls hit with decent pace that don't jump up too high or skid thru the court, but they struggle to generate their own pace, hit high balls, and/or move in to hit attacking approach shots (perhaps with slice on BH approaches & aggressive topspin on FH approaches that actually get up and down - or just down on high ball approach shots. This is one of the few RU-vid tip videos that addresses and properly instructs on this important issue - so kudos to you!

Interesting. So in a nutshell, independent of ball height, the racquet angle must be such that the ball travels across the stings from 9:00 to 3:00 or vice-versa on the string bed. This follows the natural angle of the arm swing, according to ball height. When you think about it, this will naturally produce a lateral displacement of the main strings, with little or no displacement of the crosses. Of course poly strings will snap back. It makes total sense and nobody has ever called my attention to that before. The "diagonal angled" racquet on high balls makes so much sense, since it is a power position. Great tip.

This is simple but effective advice many rec players and teaching pros don't know. Still top or slice, but different angles on the ball based on height. A+ as always.

So essentially swing more across to impart ‘side spin’ on the high balls?

So with the high forehand right before you swing the racket head will drop below your wrist and then you make contact high and swing down on the ball?

High or low forehand is the same as normal forehand. The only difference is the level of tilt torso and contact point. Don't worry about the racket drop, you won't be able to see the racket anyway. Instead of swing down on the ball, think forward and up with little side spin. Naturally the swing path will carry the racket down. All of this won't feel natural unless you can hit normal forehand effortlessly.
