What I love about this song is that it suits a number of situations you can be in. Keep in mind that this is the track that plaus throughout a majority of the first area in the game. Every time you restart your game, you end up right here. This your first time playing? This song conveys the feeling of delving into a strange new world you don't know. It can be a little intimidating, but full of charm and evoke a childlike sense of wonder at the same time. Come back here after a regretful neutral run, ready to give pacifist a try? You probably feel such relief being back here after the ending likely left you feeling disappointed, and you're elated to be back and see Toriel again, especially if you killed her the first time. Here, the music conveys your resolve to do everything right to make up for your past mistakes. This time, you'll save her. You'll save everyone. So you get your perfect happy ending, right? But you still want to see what more the game has to offer, and you're curious about the genocide run. You've reset the game. Your friends have forgotten all about you, and now your goal is to kill them all. Doing this to them after you've befriended them feels wrong, but you have to overcome your guilt in order to keep pressing forward. Here, the music conveys the feeling of pressing on despite that guilt, getting used to killing as the bodies rack up and your EXP increases, and bearing the knowledge of the inevitable heartbreak to come later on in mind. It's time to steel your resolve, so you have no regrets later and back out. It's amazing just how well this music fits so many different moods. Whatever the challenge that lies ahead of you in this run, this is where it all begins.

It's legit midnight at this very moment for me and I'm just here listening to Undertale music. Perfect.

This gives me a strange feeling, like I am a child young, no worry, no stress, no time to think about the end.

In winter of 2016, after playing and falling in love with Undertale, I had a job at FedEx that started at 4AM, and my commute in the cold, foggy night was 15 minutes through empty suburban streets into desolate river delta backroads, and for my few months working there, I would play this video as my soundtrack. It was a ritual. It fit so perfectly, and lent the trip a mystical quality that made it all the better. I don't miss the job, but I remember the surreal night drive with this soundtrack so fondly.

This music brings back memories of when I first discovered Undertale, before the theories, before Sans and Papyrus, before Chara, and before the fandom became toxic. Flashes back to when we thought Flowey was nice but was acutally evil, then found a kind and sweet goat mom.

I listened the this song a lot during the summer of 2018. My puppy had died a day before the last day of school. I decided to play this game as a sort of relief from all that grief. I remember being sorrowful while it was a sunny hot day and my mom Took us out for ice cream so I brought my laptop and played this game in the car. This song came on and I felt soothed, even the memory of my puppy wasn’t as triggering as it was before. I miss you fluffy :(

The first time I heard this song I thought it was from Zelda Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask but I was surprised to realize that it was a song from Undertale and I realized that Toby Fox was able to recreate the essence of the music from the games from zelda

This music makes me feel nostalgic for the old days (for me, when I was a kid around 2007-2009) even though this game came out in 2015. THAT'S how great this is. When you can make music that gives people nostalgia for the past even before the music existed, you're doing something right.

This song was the anthem of last winter for me. My girlfriend introduced me to this game and we obsessed over it throughout the cold months, reveling in its music and characters and lore. It really enriched our relationship and made those months magical. She's gone now, but I still listen to this song and reminisce about that perfect stretch of time. Things fall apart.

It was with this track that Undertale started for me. Not from the loading screen, and not from Flowey, but from the entrance to the Ruins. I heard this music. The moment when something amazing opened up in front of me. I felt that an incredible and unforgettable journey awaited me. Every game should start with this kind of music.

I used to watch MagmaMusen a long time ago. He/she used to play this song and Last Goodbye from undertale all the time in his/her videos. I didn't know what those songs were, but I liked them. I have finally found them 3 years later.

Why do I love this so much? It feels magical and each time I listen to it, the tune feels more and more familiar.. Quite a while ago, I forgot the OST for Undertale due to not watching / listening for some time, and this tune was in my head the whole period... I couldn't figure out what it was, and when I did I felt so happy! 💜 I don't know.. Its amazing.

The game starts off seeming like another 8-bit RPG videogame-y game, but then it grows on you. And it REALLY grows on you.

Some time ago, I had a dream where Toriel saved me from a creepy monster. She told me to jump on her back for protection and I did so she then firmly told the creepy thing to go away. I thanked her afterwards and hugged her. :) I woke up! Best dream ever! :3

I hate and love that I’m nostalgic for this song. It was my first semester of community college and I was walking down the halls listening to this song. Now I’m almost finished with my bachelors at a university. Time sure does fly sometimes.

I feel so nostalgic whenever I hear this theme. It reminds me of when I had first gotten the demo and I was so intrigued by everything and amazed by the music and the gameplay. I never get the same feeling when listening to any of the other songs.
