Aha yes horrible history here you would think in a modern society it wouldn't happen but evil people - and aha well instead of dipping we decided to just chance our luck so glad I filme d the entire place

I was r there in 19 78 to 1980 I saw lots of things and took many beatings And gave out beating for staff for cigs and for night passes into Wrexham if you dint do it you were attacked

Yes it was supposed to be and quite a few people wanted to save it however due to its history not sure if that will happen tbh

And so it should be demolished. I’m surprised that someone hasn’t set the place alight. Considering I was about 14yo when this place was on the news. This was one of many other places. Where the if the walls could speak. I’m convinced that We'd hear some horror stories. Anyway as I was saying I was 14yo And taking beatings at rhyd y gorse special school Carmarthen. And a few other school mates were taking it up the bum hole from various staff members. “ they obviously thought that our arseholes were a perk of the job “ When this came on the news. And as far as I’m concerned it’s the hammer house of horrors. And should be demolished. In fact any place like that should be demolished. As it holds so many painful horror stories. For any living survivor's. Or anyone that was unfortunate to ever set foot within the place.

Alot of childrens home had schools within the home. They would home school back in the day. I was in care in the 80s and we went to school sometimes in the home. So its not uncommon to see teaching type rooms..

Yes this place was part of Waterhouse inquiry and truly horrific abuse happened there real awful.

I think it was what was known as an approved school where children where sent for petty crimes, most then went on through the system of Detention centres, then on into Borstal, then on to prison, I went through that system as a child, and the staff used to beat you up, awful places.

Yes originally I did not know the history of the place but after hearing and researching about it honestly it's disgusting and essentially became a safe haven for horrific people to cause abuse to kids

This place was a children’s care home. Kids were sent here if their parents had died or if they were removed by Social Services. Basically the most vulnerable children in society, sent here to be tortured, humiliated and sexually abused.

That to me sounds a bit like rhyd y gorse special school Carmarthen. That's one of many other places where children were beaten to a pulp,

I live down the road from this place and know too much about it, it was a care come for boys up until about the 90's when it became council property and changed from Bryn Estyn to Erlas, it is about 100 years old and not listed. You should consider yourselves lucky to have seen the place, it was planned for demolotion before lockdowns. To be honest, I'll be glad when this place is gone!

You should of done research before you broke in the building to walking around spouting ignorance. Like, "it's smells mouldy, it's 27:00 like a school". This is a beautiful house set in lovely grounds, with an out door swimming pool, football and rugby pitches. A nature reserve and a Victorian gardens. I went there in the early 1970s, it was run by lovely staff, mostly Welsh, who were loving and caring, who done so much for the trouble boys there. There was no abuse or Jimmy Saville, just one of the best places to be for trouble young people. Wrexham people should be proud of this school, which opened in the late 1940s. Compared with the state of the care system today, this place was a home from home. I can still hear the crows that woke us up in the early morning, the house sang all day and night, the food was amazing, workshops, army cadets, days out, trips to the cinema. The teaching staff were brilliant, I remember everyone of them, inspiring human being. From the old gardener, the paint and decorating bloke, woodwork teacher, the lovely lady cook, the women who cleaned, run the surgery, washed and mended our clothes, kept us clean, heathly and loved, does anyone believe these women would of turned a blind eye to Abuse? They are letting this wonderful house fall to bits, (so well built it's taking ages), so the developers can get their greedy hands on the land. This place should be celebrated as when the country had a more caring attitude to vulnerable children, than what today's cynical, cruel and downright twisted society in which we find ourselves living in today.

@@BeardedReality we used to do what your doing, getting into old houses and buildings when we were about nine or ten, then we sort of grew up. Wow it's a big room, wow its a small room, did you find Jimmy Savilles shitty undies, I'm sure he left them in a middle size room, the one with the light on. Jumping on the bandwagon of made up folk tales.
