Wow yours turned up so fast! 😂Mine is still probably weeks away so I'll save your video for later as I want to get my first impressions when opening the box too. I'm glad they are actually starting to arrive though - I was wondering if these bags were ever going to be released, lol.

I'm so glad you posted this. I got the same set of the two bags and the hundred dollars of wet media. I have to be honest, when I opened mine, I was horribly disappointed in the children's quality art supplies that they sent. I ended up getting the water color crayons instead of the sheets of water color. Honestly, I really wish I had gotten the sheets. Instead , it looks like smart art just threw together stuff that they had from previous boxes left over... I'm sorry muse kits I don't think I realized that the bags we're gonna have a plether top. I think I expected them to be a little bit higher quality. But like other people had mentioned I'm kind of wishing I had just spent my money on an actual leather bag and went to an art store and got some high quality supplies. I probably could have spent less. But I was excited just support jazza, And with some of his previous art boxes , I thought that it might actually have a decent value Im glad to see im not the only one underwhelmed

The bags are quite neat :) but the rest of the stuff is not very good (for the $$ you spent on it all :O ) and that paper is horrid!! I had a block bought for my birthday 2 years ago and I hated it, it's the most awful paper I've ever painted on, so I don't think it's worth over $300 at all, but I do like the bags :D

I get to watch yours now, yay! The Prussian Blue colour is pretty; it was my third choice after red and turquoise. I didn't think to try my phone in the small pocket....nope, it doesn't fit, doh! I'm glad you got the tier with the extra art supplies, as I was tempted but it was getting too expensive. I wanted to know what was in there, haha! The water bottle pockets are super annoying and I want a big bottle of water! A number of issues that I would want to fix.

I got a 4 pack of those silicone water cups on Amazon. They are a bit tippy, so I leave the bottom layer not expanded and it’s more stable. They work fine for me and I like having a lid so that any residual water doesn’t end up deposited on stuff in my bag.

Hi, Miranda! (Second attempt - the laptop crashed on the first!) I saw this come up this evening and had to stop and watch it straight away! I'm looking forward to seeing you put it to use. I'd be concerned about the weight of the bag when fully loaded, as it look heavy as it is, with all the padding, and the thick flap. Not sure how long that faux leather will cope with constant use. When I watched Jazza developing the bag, I kept thinking, "This is more a bloke's bag than a Unisex." because it looked so clumsy and heavy. So I'm looking forward to seeing how well it works for your class bag, or as a bag where you'd be carrying it some distance, rather than just to and from the car. The back pack option would alleviate the weight and balance issue, I think. That it won't stand up by itself would irritate me no end, but maybe when you've got some things in it that you use all the time (ie that live in the bag) it might stay upright for taking things out and putting things in? No dedicated space for a modern cell phone seems odd. That pocket would take my 1990's cell phone, or my current 2014 phone, perfectly, but as you demonstrated, not the current monstrosities. The pockets designed for a very slim water bottle seem odd, too, seeming not to take into account that more than half the world's population lives in hot climates. But I also kept thinking that this was more a 'messenger' type of carry-on bag than a dedicated art bag, as he kept talking about space for laptops (where art papers should go) and chargers, cables, etc where paint supplies would need to go. It's certainly that type of design. The little one is nothing special - just a bag of a type that we can buy anywhere, any time. Disappointed with un-named art products as part of your package, but I think you’ll like the Goldfaber watercolour pencils - especially when you use them on a decent paper. The Hahnemühle Britannia paper’s a bit of a shocker! I’ve never used the sample I have, because the very small pad is a rough texture which I don’t like, but your experience with it with the various media really has shocked me! I’d like to see you using the brushes with gouache, and the glass pen, too (on a different paper, obviously!). Having said all this, as I said before, *your reasons for buying these make it worth it for you, and I really am looking forward to being proved totally wrong (about everything but the price tag!)* as you get to use the Studio bag on a regular basis, both for class and for longer treks, in the long term. 😊

Hi, Miranda! I'm replying to myself as it refers to my comment ^. I've just seen a random item which popped equally randomly on my home page. I'll email it to you... So here's where I admit that I am more impressed with the bag than before this item popped up! I still don't like the flap, but he put all his things from his old, well-used bag into it and it all fits really well. He also got the extras, as you did, and I'm still not very impressed with those. I'd still like the big inside pocket to be divided (maybe with a couple of removable dividers) for ease of keeping sketchbooks / paper clean and flat, and pockets to hold things like small, or long thin items in place. Would that big space be big enough for my zipped brush wallet (29 x 16 x 2cms) and zipped watercolour pencil wallet (holds 72, measures 31 x 21 x 3.5cms) ) as well as an A4 sketchbook and A5 w/c sketchbook? No, I'm not considering buying one of the bags, but it's the sort of stuff others might want to know. I'd be interested to know how much it weighs when empty, too, so are you able to do that? I think it would matter to quite a lot of people. I almost always check the weight of bags, because of issues carrying stuff.. The one time I didn't, I allowed myself to be carried away by an expensive leather satchel. I'd been looking for an old-style school satchel for ages, and this one looks the part. Only, in spite of handling it in the shop, I was so thrilled to have found it that I ignored its weight! Consequently, it's never been used as a satchel, and currently is an expensive storage space for coloured paper stock for card inserts! It's a shame, because if I'd been able to use it, it would have been wonderfully softened and beautified by constant use by now, some 15 years later! I have just done a quick search online, one very similar to mine costs £320!!! I've just looked at the clock, and it's 1.30am!!!!!! I was heading for bed three hours ago, and got side-tracked!!!!!!!)

Yes, I'll weigh them and let everyone know - good suggestion. I'm using the little one on a trip now and it's quite heavy but it's packed with all my stuff. Now I'm curious the actual empty weight. 🤔

We got ours yesterday. So far we are really happy, but they won’t get proper test drives for a while yet. I get the small one for travel and hubby get the bigger one for his primary work bag. They seem a bit heavy, but are still far lighter than my leather ones that are almost the same size. We opted for the dry media package, and it had enough stuff that was new to us to make it worthwhile (markers, light box, etc.). Since we both paint, they wasn’t much duplication with the supplies we already had, so we get to tackle a new challenge too!

Yeah, real leather is so much better. I have a Rolleiflex leather camera bag that was my great-grandfather's, and it's still flawless after all these years. It's approaching 100 years. I've seen way too many similar bags that just have that cheap discount store look that can be had for $15 or less and honestly unless I missed something it didn't seem really geared toward art users. It had one or two small things that just didn't really fit. I love that she's supporting other artists with this, but it seemed way over priced and I would be heartbroken if it had been me. She sounded a bit let down which is always a bummer. I hope it works out for her.😊 Maybe it will be just what she needs and sometimes the harsh light can make things look worse and more plastic so I'm going to hope it looks great in parson.😊

I love bags (art bags or regular totes, etc), but have never heard of Jazza so this was new to me. Converting that amount to Canadian dollars (and probably extra in shipping and duties) would make them crazy expensive for me. I’m really happy with my Etchr Slate mini and Field case which work well for the amount and type of supplies I take with me. I’m honestly not sure what features I’d have to see in a new bag to tempt me into switching or buying an additional art bag? I hope you enjoy them and they work well for you! (Disappointing supplies though. I think I’d rather get fewer extras of higher quality as I’d be more apt to use them.)

Great review. I'm not sure I feel it looks worth the pricetag, but I guess until you know how well it handles usage and how long it lives for you can't really know that 🤷 they do look nice enough, but didn't wow me. I expect that maybe I'm not the target audience for this bag. Maybe younger trendier marker/urban artists would find it more useful/enticing? I do like the smaller prussian blue one, but I think it would become a day satchel rather than an art bag, so again wouldn't be able to justify the price I think. I'd love to see a video of you packing/using them.

I was really excited to join this, but the pricing was just so high and I wasn't particularly a fan of a pleather flap, as they always tend to crack on me. (Plus tbh, carrying around a RU-vidr logo didn't appeal to me too much...) The Rollacrit Bag of Holding came out just a short time after for about half the price, so I ended up going for that. While it's not technically an art bag, it's got a lot of similar features and it's been designed to be super durable. I can't really speak for it in action yet, as it doesn't ship until around July, but I have really high hopes for it being my travelling artist/convention bag as well as what I bring with me throughout my masters degree. Would have loved to support Jazza on this one, he's an awesome creator, but it just didn't tick all the boxes for me as far as usability, look, price and quality are concerned, whereas the Rollacrit bag seems to so far! Those art supplies are a choice. A bag marketed toward professional artists coming with kids/student grade kit? Mmm. I don't doubt the value is there, but I think this was a less is more scenario with high quality goods, and it might have been something really special.

Great review! You addressed all the issues I was having with the set. Especially since I had to pay an additional 180€ for import taxes and fees, so the bundle cost me way over 500€. @raftycorner I believed you, Mira. It is just sooo disappointing when we get this sort of response. 🤔 Jazza has a big team which deals with the admin side of things (and that often means reading through hundreds of comments to get the overview of how the viewers are responding), so it may have been an over-sensitive one of those, rather than Jazza himself? This is always a problem when a channel gets to be so big, and the actual artist has to delegate to others... Edit to add: I took a look at his vlog post and there are a lot of negative comments about the the bundle, order, shipping and delivery issues, and someone commented that 'Jazza' (for Jazza, read 'his team!) hasn't answered any of those. I won't buy these these things, not only because more often than not, I can get something similar, which is within my budget, but also because too often, there are problems outside of the ArtTuber's control - eg with a Craftamo brush set by a very frugal, lovely crafter (LW) where there were a few comments on unboxing / review videos about loose ferrules; or where dispatch is delayed without the customer being informed. Also, all too often, overseas buyers don't get told about Import costs where they live and don't realise that they need to check with their country's rules before ordering this sort of thing. They end up with massive import duties to pay, and sometimes, even high 'Customs handling charges' made by some delivery companies. So it ends up making what should have been a joyous, and often an impulse purchase, helping out a fellow artist become a nightmare.
@mirascraftycorner
@mirascraftycorner 4 месяца назад
@@MrsBarnabas I knew about import taxes, but I’ve bought previous products and was always super happy with the quality, so while import taxes are annoyingly high, when the product is worth it it doesn’t matter as much. My major issue is that the content of the bundle felt more like an afterthought. He didn’t put as much research and quality check into it like he did for the bags or the sketch pack. And they only showed a selection of things that you might get after the kickstarter was over. Had I known before which items were included, I would have opted to just buy the bags. But because my expectations were high based on the previous materials I’ve gotten, I went for the bundle, which is probably why the art supplies were a let down
