Nice to see you again Toni. And I can't believe your getting the garden work done, so lucky. If it makes you feel more comfortable in the garden, getting all these jobs done, then it's a win, win, plus like you say it's safer for the fur babies as well. And yes, looking down your garden, the tree to the left I think it is, that one I thought was a magnolia as well, so it fooled me. But the two you got were just lovely, and once planted will come on nicely, and like you say, it will be lovely to look back and say, I planted them the first year we moved in here. And I think it's little memories like that, that we cherish. See you later. 🥰🐾🐾💖

Toni, I’m afraid sycamore are known as weed of the wood, they will self seed very easily. I suggest to get rid and plant the magnolia’s in their place ( but make sure you keep them at a safe size as they too will grow very large if not pruned each year to keep under control.) I suggest you cut back what you currently have in your garden so you don’t get unwanted visitors. 💞

Toni I have gardened for over 30 years and never saw a mouse or a rat. They are nocturnal so I promise you, you are safe!!! 😂😂😂

Hi Toni It’s ok to get it wrong at times as I’m learning all the time in the garden. I’m glad you got your unsafe areas sorted as ditches are one place all kinds of critters appear lol Your garden will be your own wee paradise but it does need looking after and the rewards are worth it. Hi Toni , peanut butter is excellent for the traps & if you sprinkle used teabags & coffee grains around the soil that will deter any rats & mice going thru your garden the smell makes them run off ...before planting always disturb the roots a little also egg shells are an excellent source of protein for your soil/planting & a few tablespoons of vinegar every now & then when watering .....enjoy your gardening 🇨🇦

Loving your vlogs, Toni. Magnolia trees are beautful but only flower for about a month I think - I purchased one a couple of years ago but sadly didn’t do too well. Your garden is beautiful so many lovely plants xx❤

My garden slopes away from the house. I have a deck leading down to a patio, then you cross the lawn and go down to another area, all via steps. I encourage hedgehogs in the garden. I have a visiting fox and .... wait for it, Speedy Gonzalez a woodmouse, who lives somewhere around my vine. My suggestion is get a trail cam and then you can see what is really Iiving in your garden. I have never seen a rat here. Don't forget magnolias need space. I've got a reasonable size garden but I would consider it too small for a magnolia. You are going to love learning about gardening. It is SO addictive. Good luck. 🤗

The sycamore’s will blossom each spring just like the Magnolias both will finish blooming in Spring.

Down the Sycamore and add good plants because it’s most probably they seeded from the birds. Poo poo just get rid of them give you a lot more room and they takes too much shade.

I'm so sorry you are scared of the wildlife in the garden. Rats tend to go into gardens where there is food, often bird food. Any rustles are usually birds in the bushes and nothing in your garden will chase after you. Time to start watching Monty Don on Gardeners World and start enjoying your lovely garden ❤

I used sugar soaps from B&Q it was amazing love best £4 I’ve spent and it cleared the grease so well. I hope your friends settles in to her new home tell her I sent her lots of love and happiness in her new home xxx

Hi Toni I’m terrified of mice and rats so much so if I see a rat on the tv I’m reduced to tears and have to close my eyes until my husband tells me when there off the screen looking forward to seeing the garden updates x
