Here’s how the trick is done. If you watch very carefully as he collects the deck, right after placing all 5 cards into it, you will notice that he is a level 10 wizard. This trait allows him to perform magical acts that we can’t begin to fathom
@@xqr_ the deck is in complete order already all the shuffles and cuts are false for example up the ladder and the push through shuffle and also the gamblers combit
This guy was in some movies I remember. Boogie Nights. I recognized his face. Didn’t know he was so good at card magic. Checked his IMDB page and it said he died last year. RIP Ricky Jay
This trick is great, because it is fundamentally really simple: all he does is not mixing the cards. They are presented in exactly the order they were in the deck. The brilliance lies in tricking the audience that he thoroughly mixes the cards. He never does.
Actually, while Rick is a great master, a lot of the switches and fake tosses are visible even on this old blurry video. Whole routine is brilliant though...
I feel like this is just perfect execution of a perfect technique. If you riffle shuffle a deck twice (flawlessly, and alternate which half has the card at the bottom of the shuffle) you get the deck back in perfect order. Note, his first two shuffles alternated. So essentially, those first two shuffles didn't matter. The next 4 riffle shuffles were all on the same side. So two cards are moved rotated out of order from the top to the bottom. So basically what I'm saying, unless he is palming something, I think he has worked out the math, and making perfect execution. Which is wildly impressive.
You’re right that it’s a perfect execution of a perfect technique, but two perfect riffle shuffles will only get you a quarter of the way - to restore the original deck order you need to perform eight perfect riffle shuffles (with some fake cuts and fake shuffles thrown in as well). This performance is amazing.
If anyone is wondering how he did it, he switches the decks at 1:55 when it goes out of camera shot. Then he just pretends to shuffle the cards to throw you off. Still very impressive though
It's great to hear no BS, no obnoxious, loud techno garbage. No, "HERE'S YER BOI RICKY JAY BACK ATCHA WITH ANOTHER VIDEO! REMEMBER TO SMASH LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE!"
Pretty sure it's prosthetics on the forearms. They look misshapen to begin with, and then you can see the skin jut out abnormally very late in the video. He's really good, but at least I now know where he keeps his doubles!
He was in 2 shows ive seen. An episode of the x files and a movie with sam elliott called the ranger ,the cook and a hole in the sky and in both he he did card tricks. I do know he was in more shows though.
