Amongst other reasons,Covid is scary,to be sure. But when we lose that thing,a sense of smell or taste,even people who pride themselves with those two senses,realize that even THEY have taken it for granted. I am a person born with ever so slightly compromised smell and taste,I think that I ,in the context of this video,place myself between the two of you,as I can smell the subtleties to an appreciable degree,but not fully,and I can appreciate the texture,the degree of thickness of the liquor,and I can most certainly appreciate the visual,aesthetic quality as well. The look of the tea,from dry to rinse,through all the steepings that it has to offer. The choosing of a teapot to brew,the choosing of a Gong Dao Bei. Looking at the little fish eye-like bubbles,as they cling,seemingly forever,along the edges of aforementioned Gong Dao Bei,never desiring to pop out of existence. Like a blind man,appreciating the feel of both silk and burlap. Or a deaf man,appreciating the silence,or the feel of placing his hand on a stereo speaker. The appreciation and joy of pure experience is always there. I love tasting my teas,they gift my palate in the most colorblind way❤️

Wishing you a speedy recovery. When I had COVID in December of 2021, I lost all sense of taste and smell for 4 months. It came back very slowly and I would occasionally catch a scent, but for the most part I was completely nose blind. Hopefully your senses come back a lot faster 🙂 It's definitely an interesting time to test your memory of scents and experiment with textures.
