So after watching the full video I have some notes - HDR does work! But some titles flickered when HDR was on so its listed as unsupported - There is a perf hit, but some games are FPS locked like some Bethesda games & Elden Ring, there's also emulators too. In those instances this tool makes the most sense. - All frame generations, even advanced ones simply try to recreate the image even if its flawed, so if you give it a flawed image it will output one. So the Hogwarts Legacy example is more of the fault of UE5/the devs, that FSR3 mod also ghosted pretty bad. But LSFG may ghost less than FSR3/DLSSFG since its not TAA based like those, so they'll add there own TAA based ghosting then amplify it with there frame gen so in a situation where you can play without TAA LSFG should be less ghosty which is a plus. - You can use upscaling to claw back some of the LSFG performance (or just use upscaling by itself instead, as it will have no perf overhead). LS1 is the apps own proprietary upscaler, it's a spatial upscaler that used a neural network in its training, thus is superior to even FSR1. The only downside is it may be oversharpened in some games in which case it may not be the best but other than that it preserves detail better & has no ghosting or temporal blur. 1.18x - Ultra Quality+ (85%) 1.3x - Ultra Quality (77%) 1.5x - Quality (66%) 1.7x - Balanced (59%) 2x - Performance (50%)

Also normal frame gen has an FPS hit too, & that FPS hit grows larger the weaker your device is/more GPU bottlenecked you are. In CPU bottlenecked scenarios all frame generation improves due to this fact. In normal FG it's just hidden from you since it displays itself as real frames and doesn't let yourself see how many real frames you're getting underneath. So this isn't anything out of the ordinary. This is why frame gen uplifts performance by about only 80% or less a lot of the time despite "doubling" the framerate because its lowering performance by about 20% then doubling that FPS.
@Superdazzu2
@Superdazzu2 7 месяцев назад
Imho the performance overhead to use lsfg is way higher than normal dlss3 or even fsr 3 or amd fluid motion frames,it's like an 25% hit on the games i tried

I wonder what's the latency penalty like. I'd like to use it for fighting games as they're locked to 60, but latency is very sensitive for these games. I would guess it would add at least 16ms since you need to hold one frame, and then maybe some extra MS for processing to take place? If you're aware about latency id love to know
@Hybred
@Hybred 7 месяцев назад
@@GFClocked I can't give specific numbers but its low
@Hybred
@Hybred 7 месяцев назад
@@Superdazzu2 not that much higher but it will matter more due to having to cap FPS. Turn on FSR3/DLSSFG and whatever framerate is half that is your real FPS, which will show you how much perf is being lost. Which will be higher based on your GPU and if vrs the bottleneck in that game

Buddy you just changed my life. I have been busting my ass for years trying to get old games like Zelda Orcarina of Time to run at 60 fps. This Worked!!!! I am so happy right now. You can get OOT to run at 60fps with mods, but it causes all sorts of issues because the physics of the game are tied to the framerate. The rendering with Lossless Scaling is not perfect, there is some artifacting while panning quickly, I really don't care about that the game feels smooth finally
@Hybred
@Hybred 7 месяцев назад
Although 30fps to 60fps isn't ideal, older/simpler games are probably the best case scenario for that sort of interpolation since they're simpler they will cause less artifacts. Especially since a lot of PS2 era games had fixed cameras or limited rotations.

@@Labib-dw1lk I spent the last few hours testing every retro game that runs at 30 fps. The results are astonishing. Some games, such as Mario 64 have no perceivable artifacting, probably due to the slow camera speed. Frame Gen does not do well with Fog effects, Silent Hill 2 has nearly all the fog sort of glitching and was quite distracting, but for the most part its been excellent. I will move on to game with 60fps trying to run at 120fps next although its almost unnecessary So far FG has worked in every game I have tested

Hey before I watch the full video I want to thank you for putting not free in the video title as to not mislead people, & although I'm not the lead developer/owner of the steam page I want to explain why the program is paid. First thing to note is this is a TOOL, not a mod, and the LSFG frame generation and LS1 upscaler are proprietary, they were not borrowed from AMD or Nvidia they were developed in house so its different from a paid mod. The engineers who made DLSSFG and FSR3 were also paid, the developer of LS was not unless the program is purchased. The program also works on more things than just games (like on movies). Lossless Scaling also comes with community supported localizations & regional pricing. We are also very fair with refunds if the app does not work for you or you don't like it. With that said we also have zero DRM because despite the piracy risk we don't want to inconvenience users. I hope these facts can make the price a easier pill to swallow but I am sorry it wasn't free. Thank you for making the video Ariel
@Hybred
@Hybred 7 месяцев назад
Also FG is pinned in the Steam discussions tab as an update, I think it's not added to the steam page yet as a selling point as it's still early days. We want to improve it as much as possible first & streamline the process.

Thank you for information about lossless scaling. It works very well . I checked it on retroarch and ryujinx as well in modern games. Scaler option and Frame generator work well. In riva tuner you need to limit frame ratee to half of your monitor/tv max refreshrate . I have checked asus tuf vg32vq BFI VA panel. And BFI adds a little motion clarity over native 144hz but colors loose vibrancy and they are just weak. I think LEDs backlight need to work on over 60% max power to have good colors. BFI duty cycle is 40% in this monitor. Monitor have 450Nits but in 40% of leds power leds loose color gamut a lot. That's why I prefer regular 144hz in this monitor over BFI.

I suggest you to use the old version (2.5.0). I don't know how they made it, but works amazingly well. I can jump from 80~90FPS to 140FPS on TLOU without any input lag beind added. Slcae=LS1 and FG=LSF1 are my settings. Don't what happened, like I say, but it's all rendered on engine/gpu. So you can even see these frames with MSI AB or any other app that have monitoring system.

Tried it and I use it, it looks good 60/120hz or 72/144hz in 3rd person game, in FPS games are garbage too many artifacts and they are quite noticeable. I have an RTX 4080 and tried mostly in games that don't have FSR3 or DLSS 3 Frame Gen. Tried it in Control 4k Max setting with Ray Tracing 60/120hz very demanding game, the game looks great especially in combat. One of the games which is difficult to run at stable 120-144fps is Batman Arkham Knight, this looks great in 4k Max setting 72/144hz mode, additional smoothing and visibility for effect like rain all looks great now. Tried it also in 2D game like Rayman Legends in 60/120hz game is locked at 60fps ghosting at that frame rate on my monitor is visible, with LSFG it looks great ghosting is at a minimum. It is very simple and easy to use and should be tried at least. Its varies from game to game, it is not for every game and works especially well with controller and Special K if the game of interest is compatible with it, because it has an Nvidia Reflex Low Latency mode that helps reduce latency

What is that oled motion pro? Why should it increase perceived smoothness when the refresh rate compliance of oleds is plenty enough for 120 hz?
@plasmatvforgaming9648
@plasmatvforgaming9648 7 месяцев назад
OLEDS have ideal GtG for the refresh rate, and that's why they closely follow the Blur Busters Law, which tells you that motion clarity is limited by persistence
@plasmatvforgaming9648
@plasmatvforgaming9648 7 месяцев назад
OLED Motion Pro High reduces the persistence to 33-38% based on my testing, hence improving the motion clarity in 2.6x

I haven't tried it, but I would try to find a deal on a C2 or C3 new or used. I know C2 were going as low as $500 for the 48 or 42 inch. I'm not sure what the prices are right now or what size you're looking at but I would start looking for deals as they get ready to get rid of last year's stock.

VRR is waaay too important for gaming to not have. Buying a new monitor for gaming without it is a really really bad idea. It absolutely should be priority 1. Fixed refresh rate monitors are dead to you. No ifs ands or buts.

It depends. With this Mod, I'm using it changes. Also, the ICC profile I'm using for Auto HDR changes it. If you ask me about vanilla SDR, I'd say default 50

the Lossless Scaling ap itself has an option to display rendered frames which seems accurate. Also noticed lately after burrner's rivatuner has started displaying two columns of statistics one for example at 60 fps then a double column which is the same except showing 120 fps which again proves the extra rendered frames

I have a 4090 and will be buying a 5090. I have been downscaling to 4k from 8k for extra fidelity, but requires 4x the processing power. Using DLSS, Samsungs interpolation and now this - it's amazing how little fidelity loss you get (actually a huge gain) from all these resources. The most mindblowing thing of all, is knowing how many pixels are created from the original raster.
