Psi, many thanks for uploading!! Congratulations to the winners! Although they weren't flashy, they were consistently dependable, with impressive deductive reasoning & their captain was on his game! Was surprised by the lackluster performance of the losing team, however.
I'm just sitting here thinking...how is it possible for these people in their (very) early 20s to have amassed such a wealth of knowledge in such a broad array of subjects? I mean...knowing female golf players, then recognizing some horrible physics equations, then recognizing operas? Daaamn. For a regular Joe such as myself, it makes no sense how anyone would even have the time by that young age to even go through all that information, let alone being able to recall it in a matter of seconds under pressure. Hats off to these great minds, I'll humbly go back to my boringly mediocre preoccupations and hope I'm smarter in my next life or something along that line.
I'm a little startled to see the surprise Wang's teammates show when he suggests Henry Ford as the antisemitic industrialist. I feel like the antisemitism is basically the second thing you learn about him after the quote about making the Model T in any color as long as it's black.
Surely depends on whose account you're reading/listening to. I know a fair bit about Mr Ford but not that he was anti-Semitic. Given that the term is often used in contexts where it doesn't apply, however, am not so sure it's true.
@@castelodeossos3947 The reason his antisemitism is so well known is the extensive documentation of his views, some of them deliberately propagated by him in published media. His role in the political climate of the U.S. during and after his time is the subject of ample, serious scholarship.
Adam Walker. She's probably worried about receiving another load of unfair abusive comments from Sandroid on this page! We love Stone - even if she only gives her first name in the intros ha ha!
I confess myself disappointed in Bristol. Though I'd love Sandroid's reaction to this match now that one of her favorites is gone just before the semis.
Hi there, been busy unlike u lot :P Bowes was defo one of my fave contestants but he lost ALOT of brownie points when he let the dumb blonde/deer in the headlights get the super easy 'Madame Butterfly' which even I knew (I'm more the 'Drake' type). He's not going to live that down for a loooooooooong time, if ever ;P
Adam Walker The lights prob made it look dark blonde when she was doing those irritating hair flips ... u sure? Coz 'dumb blonde' is cliche but has a nice ring to it :P
Most shocking thing I've ever seen on University Challenge: 16:07 - the contestants bring their own personal water to top up their glasses?! Scandal! Subterfuge! Lies!
Dear Adam, Thank you for your kind words. I realise now that you are right - I was wrong. Ne'er again shall I dare write a comment on The You Tube. Kind regards
Carson really strong but a good performance by Wang, too! Very disappointed with Bristol, their captain was so impressive on their first episode of this season, he really folded today. 13 right answers for me this time...
Callous Carson in contention for 'Worst Captain Ever'. Had another look at S47E28 and Heaton-Armstrong's meltdown. Wang noted on Twitter that Paxman had scolded HA earlier, so CC should have been MORE understanding and not cut HA off on camera. Edinburgh camp: 'Most Sensitive/Trollish' Camp Ever on UC'. Bring it on ... and do alliterate, of course ;P (Disclaimer: Your Honour, I think I was influenced by the first bonuses on alliteration on S47E28.) Adam Walker Watched it a long time ago. Loved it. Gave away my entire DVD (and CD) collection cept for Oscar-nominated/winning films, so no, I don't have it anymore. Why?
