Bro, that whole actress/singer/celebrity scheme is crazy. I always loved how em, especially back then when he was more of a "punch line" rapper/battle rapper, could just paint a picture in your head with one phrase. "Got a blow job from Paula Jones, stuck it so far in her mouth my balls broke both of her collar bones." Like, what?! Or, "spectacular, crystal meth manufacturer, stole yo mama's Acura, wrecked it and sold it back to her." I also always loved that "keepin it raw" freestyle where he rhymes(more or less) the same syllable throughout the whole verse. God, being an eminem fan back in the day, especially with Napster and other file sharing software being around, was fucking great. I feel like it took like 3 or 4 years before I heard an eminem song I didn't love, let alone like.
Still listening but why is the quality so ish on Royce verses , someone clearly cleaned up ems verses but I always wondered why they didn’t just do the whole thing, Royce kills this too and he might be free styling more than em

A "freestyle" doesn't always mean "off the top", (which means improvised on the spot). A freestyle is just an "unofficial" rap over a beat. It can be pre written or improvised. So pretty much any rap that's not on an official album CAN BE CONSIDERED a freestyle. It's really arbitrary but that's just what it is.
They all have lyric books that they write down stuff as they come up with it, so they probably have lines in their heads that they had made up before, but it's all from memory like they aren't reading it, probably, but who knows.
imagine a rapper who just tought of the best rhymes while not freestyling, then he'd be fucked cuz he couldnt use them in a freestyle xd one day, one would simply run out of rhymes xd

Reliance on pop beats 2. Screaming everything 3. Thinking rapping super fast makes him dope 4. Uninspired subject matter
