This is a stunning effort. So much attention to detail. I loved my TG-16! It was the first console I purchased after the NES. Didn't pickup a Genesis until a year or so later and then SNES was the last of the 16bit trio for me. There's just something special about this cool, little console.
Love My Turbo Grafx And Still Have It Today Thank You Retro Elder John Hancock We’ve Seen All Of The 1980s To Now What A Life Of Gaming Thanks For Your Work
I love the TG-16. I'm a huge shoot-em up fan, and the TG-16 is a shoot-em up fan's dream console. Ironically enough, though, it's not a shoot-em up that's my favorite TG-16 game. That honor goes to a game named Bloody Wolf by Data East. It's like an insane version of Contra meets Commando.
I do wish I had heard of the TG16 as a kid. US got limited releases, but I do like a bunch of what we got, and I especially like shooters. I ended up with just an NES until N64 in 96.
The PC Engine/TG-16 was such an underappreciated console in its' day and that's a shame since it had some truly great games in its' library. Like you said it had the misfortune of going up against the SNES and Genesis which basically sealed the TG-16's fate. In any case PCEWorks is to be commended for taking an unreleased game and fixing it up for release. I downloaded Dinoforce earlier today and gave it a shot on my emulator and it's a lot of fun! Is it the best shooter on the system? Hardly. But it is awesome to play an entertaining new game on a system that doesn't get as much love as it should. Great video as always John. Your channel rules!
I only saw a T-16 in Toys 'R Us and the store was pretty far from where I lived and I didn't have enough income at the time for another system. Now that I have the income these retro systems are expensive and hard to get. There's a sea of bootlegs even in Amazon. Anyway it's great that new games are still released for old systems. Good showing and cool video John!👉😃👈
