Hey, I made it into the video! I'm that guy in line at the beginning! Over the last year I obtained an Atari 7800 so that was on my radar at an expo for the first time. Managed to get Food Fight and Centipede. I was also on the look out for Atari Lynx but I only saw one booth with two games that were in box and out of my price range. Gamedeals' liquidation sale is always a highlight but I only got three games from it this year. I've been using it to pad out my PS2, Xbox and PS3 collections for years but I'm running out of cheap titles to get. Still the selection was great! I was thinking that if someone bought one of those systems or an Xbox 360 at the show they could easily grab a dozen good titles from that table alone to start their collection. My brother actually had the better score this year. I tend to buy a lot of cheaper games while he's pickier and will get only a few pricier ones. He got Trails of Cold Steel II for the PS3 and Yggdra Union for the PSP - two games that had been on his radar for years. So we had a great time as usual and will be back next year!
You’re too funny, because today I was driving by Costco and was about to swing in to grab one. But… then I opted to skip that and get a 2600+ instead. I need to replace my Retron 77.
Did the retro computer floor have computers ready for purchase? In short it would be cool to buy a computer good to go to play windows 95/98 games alot of times the ones you get off line work but you run into issues later on
I don't own this but if they add that game Frostbite that had guy jumping on the ice then I'll definitely buy this on PS5. I loved that game growing up, kinda Frogger like but way better in my opinion.
Awesome stuff John I love the channel. Us teachers really have to enjoy our summer to get ready to do it all over again this next school year. Take Care and God Bless.
The worst game ever had to be The Election Game released on the Mastertronic label for £2.99 (not £1.99), I'd say it's even worse than The A-Team which at least had title music, animation and defined graphics beyond PETSCII even though it was dire lol. I've played better games typed out of magazines.
Also die ganzen alten Stari Dpiele braucht wohl keiner mehr nach diversen rereleases der letzten Jahrzehnte.Lynx und die moderneren Spiele sind sicher interessant.
John, you didnt notice that the image is distorted @10:00 even in pixel perfect mode? Evercade managed to get the emulation horribly wrong for Ufouria (Hebereke) but apparently I'm the only RU-vid reviewer to even notice: the image is stretched out (left to right) in all three video modes for this game -it's bad enough that I retuned the cartridge for a refund.
I stoped colecting because it got WAY to expansive in my country, Sweden. When I started colecting 15 years ago you could find great titles for only 149-249 kronors. Now those same games cost around 500 kronors. Some games cost over 1000 kronors. Just insane!
Don't forget to pick up the Late Developer Jeremias Babini's game of Piopow for the NES over at Limited Run Games. I recommend Sam's Journey and Mischief Castle as well. Still waiting for my Physical Version of Sam's Journey Famicom Edition in the mail but I bought the Digital Version as well and it is a blast. Very well done games.
I personally like the Blockbuster game of Indiana Jones and I think the Resident Evil 2 game being on a cartridge is way better than Playstation because you don't have to worry about scratches. Star Fox is cool too.
Never been to Vancouver, But Victoria, BC has some great retro games stores as well! Maybe even come more Eastward, dare I say Edmonton, AB... 😂 Beauty video as always!
How would you compare the 7800 Gamedrive RGB vs. 2600+ HDMI output? Is the quality similar? Also is the RGB basically a component connection? Thanks for the help.
Thanks for this awesome update John....I have the Atari 50th Anniversary Collection for my Xbox One (both digitally and I have the physical disc). i am so looking forward to this expansion and will definitely (purchase and/or) download it wheh it is released for sure. 🕹️
I actually played through perfect dark recently on an rgb modded n64 through an ossc with firebrandx profiles. Gotta say, it looked pretty damn good. I dont go back to early 3d stuff very often, but when the gameplay is good, the visuals kinda start to not really matter after a few minutes of play
Awesome. They did this title great with the timeline style and history. Now gettting 2 new timelines, new games, and those little marquees will be a nice touch. I'll be buying this on Switch definitely
I'm with the Chilliwack Retro Computer Club that put on that vintage computer festival on the 4th floor. In previous years, we were occupying the hallway on the 3rd floor, with a focus on retro computer gaming. Because it's been so popular, and we've been able to keep expanding, we were able to do an actual mini-vintage computer festival with guests from outside the club, including some guest speakers! I believe this is the first vintage computer festival we've had in western Canada in decades! I had a couple tables in the adjoining room with PC compatibles and some Tandy systems, and we even had some DooM multiplayer LAN games going! There were a couple NABU machines set up (one of them at 5:27), which was a uniquely Canadian system that unfortunately never really took off. Somebody recently found a warehouse with some pallets of that machine, and so they've been making a comeback in the vintage computer community over the past couple of years! Klyball, one of the club members, has been actively involved with designing a new floppy controller for it, and somebody else has brought back the NABU network that they were meant to dial into! We had a VERY good turnout this year, even by ourselves up on the 4th floor!
What a beauty of a release! I only played the arcade one time, too hard for me as a child for what I remember from a summer vacation in Uruguay, a really obscure game in my region.
