Jerry and Sally are eager to move their three kids in time for the new school year but their unsellable home is holding them back and time is running out. The house has already been on the market for ten months without a single offer. Property expert Sofie Allsopp says the home’s floral themed granny décor, lackluster DIY projects and oversize TV are turning buyers off. @@deborahgate965 my mom did the same thing. We've been trying to rid of it for 20 years lol. It is in excellent condition despite the age. She decorated around it. Everything else is Native American and North Woods and horses. Quite the visual 😊

I subscribed a few days ago and have been binge watching since but this is so my FAVORITE!!! I absolutely LOVE this family! They are funny, quirky and sweet! Although their home decor is definitely not everyone's taste they r so real and entertaining to watch. A breath of fresh air. They really cheered me up, such a lovely family, I wish them all the best.

I liked the hubby also. He is enthusiastic and let's his wife shine also. He really tried with all his heart, but both have horrible taste. So cute! And they would make good friends. Forever friends if they don't get help.

I only have one 2 year old daughter.. and um.. her room is 1/10 the size of that playroom, and she has 5 times that amount of toys & clothes just in her room. 🤦🏼‍♀️ With my husband fighting cancer & unfortunately passing away last year, I didn't have time nor energy to get rid of stuff she outgrew... now I have a heck of a task on my hands.

Ha ha ha, now I`m a Jerry-Fan!!! Who needs a Ralph when you can have the real deal? And yes, a carpet is a problem with kids and dogs... When my husband and I moved in together we bought a white sofa. We were thrilled and proud and congratulated ourselves for our good taste...and so did our black dog :O

What a great couple so happy. Now the show moved to America (this ep in South Carolina instead of Toronto) we lose Anthony but gain Dave...thanks Anthony for everything!!..I think Sofie got married 2009 had a baby between seasons. This ep. aired September 2011.

This couple seems so young and naive (but gorgeous!) and they really needed some guidance. It is sweet that they assumed everyone would love their floral decor. It probably would have worked in a rustic, country-style rural property but, in suburbia, it didn't match the house's exterior and just looked tired. Well done Sofie! PS when you are selling a home, I think just about all of the toys need to be packed away. They'll need to be boxed up anyway, in preparation for the move. So, do it early and lighten the workload!

Not only is the big pieces of furniture blocking the light from the window but in some cases it can become a fire hazard because you NEED to have access to the windows to get out if there is a fire and that's the only way.

Why does furniture matter when you look at a house you don’t get the furniture if you buy the house. Imagine having to buy furniture to sell a house then what do you do with the extra furniture? That little kid was heart broken he lost his play room

I'm very surprised. Where I'm from you renovate, when you get in the house. You have use your imagination and see the potential. When they done with the house to sell, I think always - why they did it not, when they moved in the house? Normally you see the house total empty. The secret to a clean carpet with kids is: only eat and drink, when they sit at a table. No running with drinks or eating around the house.

Yes, I agree about children and Koolaid isn’t needed for a healthy diet. If it was hot and I gave mine a rare treat, it was outside for them to drink. I also believe that tables are for eating, not in bedrooms or in front of the TV. Movie night might get a pass for popcorn.

Well, these aren’t actual major renovations. These are cosmetic fixes for the most part to make the place more appealing. I have lived in Florida, California, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Washington state. I agree a clean, empty house is fine, but often it isn’t possible for people to vacate. When I sold my places I realized they needed to look somewhat updated, be organized and clean because I lived in them until sold. Places that look new and fresh and not too individualistic just sell faster. I bought houses at a low price that were a mess and fixed them up after a bunch of people passed them by precisely because they were a mess.

Then there are those who cannot see past less than lovely furniture or decor that wouldn't be in the home once they bought it. I think part of the fun of moving somewhere new is the making it your own process. Sweat equity pays big dividends as you know.

"some people will say its not really their style...so you're cutting off half of the people who could like your house" I can give them this on the wallpaper choices, but they framed that quote around the couch, and like......people are buying the house, not the current owner's furniture (and if the furniture is bequeathed to them because the owner doesn't take it, the furniture can always be sold).

I've watched quite a few episodes, this is the best one ever. The owners are great fun, especially Jerry. I get the impression their house was as it was because their family is the most important thing - they value things from the past, and the children & dogs are allowed to live eg lick the windows & dribble drinks. These guys would be happy anywhere, but I hope they managed to move as planned.

They actually make paint specifically for counter tops. I know someone who used it on their bathroom counters. You would never know it was painted. It has been three years and it still looks great. If you tried using regular paint I doubt it would last long.

These shows are 11 years old. So the original decor was a lot older than we are used to today. Inheriting furniture is a tricky thing. Unless it's 50s modern. I liked florals back then, too.

@Pruz Zilla I don’t know if it was my comment you were insinuating another meaning behind or other comments but I literally just meant her fringe made such a difference that she didn’t look like the same person. I wasn’t passing an opinion on good vs bad. Having now watched the rest of this season.. as it grows out she looks just like she did in the earlier seasons so it is literally just her fringe changing her face shape in my opinion. I mentioned nothing of weight. Merely observing how amazing it is that a hair cut can do so much to change a persons appearance....?

Then I heard her beautiful voice and I realised it was her- she just had a fringe put in. Can’t get over how much of a difference it makes. Glad they kept her for this season. She honestly makes this show.

Thats because these episodes are quiet a few years old and style has changed A LOT since then.. 10 years ago this was probably very chic and trendy and 'fresh'. I have to agree, seems like a cheap Asian restaurant... Old dated (because cheap) dark furniture combined with the classic bamboo leaves green color.. Even the bamboo print on the plates and the bamboo placemats on the dark table... It is definetly not my aesthetic lol

When we bought our house it was all dark furniture and wood paneling. Some white paint goes a long way!

@@solidstate9451 yes, or cream, or a number of other very light tints with white woodwork. It isn’t a sin or crime to paint common oak. Some wood such as Birdseye maple or mahogany with a particularly beautiful burled pattern should be preserved, but not all wood is worth keeping unpainted if it darkens a room and makes it oppressive. I mean, if people want that for themselves, go for it. But most younger people who are purchasing houses really want a fresh and airy look. I was a young adult in the 1970’s when brown with some orange, gold, or avocado were prevalent, but didn’t enjoy that even then.

I loved Unsellables when it ran on a regular basis on tv. I learned a lot from this show and applied it all when I prepared my home for sale. It was and still is a clean and beautiful home. With neutral colors and nice furnishings But in six months I had only two offers one more ridiculous than the other. I had thought that buyer's didnt want to do anything but move right in. But judging from some recently purchased homes, a few of which I actually visited prior to sale were poorly kept, smelly dumps ... but they sold nonetheless. Go figure.

I rather have a green laminate than a painted over counter. Painted counter would be a deal breaker for me as I would consider the entire counter needs replacing and would question what other cheap-outs were used to make the house show but were not going to hold up for a decade.
