Your "huge victories", all the area Russia is taken - it's "accelerated" from the speed with which tectonic plates move to the speed of a glacier. And in some - extremly fast areas - to the speed of a slow snail. And this completly lack of advancement would be obvious if they continued to show you the whole map. That's why they show you prgress by zooming in so far, that you can identfy individual houses. If you don't believe me, just check the rare sources that DO give a complete overview of the frontlines, e.g. the NZZ.
