We are just now starting to get loans; however, many years away from it being a reliable source. Most people use savings, sell their home or take out a heloc on their other home.
Just bought a lot in Palmetto Bay at the end of the year. Unfortunately I didn’t know about you and these wonderful videos then🥺. I’ve heard you mention about builders, engineers, architects and such in past videos. My question, is it better to feel out different entities for these vendors or go with a one stop construction company that has all these professionals under one umbrella. Many thanks!!
Was just in Roatan for the first time, last month. Loved it. What is the housing market like there? Better for rentals vs sales? Is a spec house a reasonable consideration? My business is designing custom homes and I have been in the building industry for over 3 decades and find this to be very interesting proposition. Island life really appeals to me for semi-retirement. Also, do they have chiropractors on the island? Thanks!
It really depends what you are looking for. Most people that live here long term do end up buying something. Many people build, but there is a long and steep learning curve. We always need go architects, builders, etc... for the island. Many builders have also started building the same house over and over again, this is still a bit of a new concept, but is helping reduce the build costs. We do have a few chiropractors on the island, very good ones too.
Hi Lauren, I've been watching your videos for a while now. Thank you for taking the time to put them out. I really enjoy them. Can I offer you a small suggestion? Sometimes it's hard to hear what you're saying. You might want to consider getting a wireless microphone. Something that pins to your lapel so that your voice is recorded with the same high quality as the video. I assume that you're using a GoPro for your recordings. Here are some videos on RU-vid with reviews for mics for GoPros. ru-vid.com?search_query=wireless+microphone+for+gopro Some of these might work for other cameras too, but regardless what video equipment you're using, I'm sure that there is a suitable remote mic setup for it. Thanks again. Keep up the great work! 🙂
Thank you! I did break my microphone and need to get a new one. I am Using my iPhone, but should try my GoPro, which I have the light and mic set for that. What do you think for wind? I stopped shooting outside because of the wind, but would love to do more ocean videos.
@@LaurenHughesRealtorandInvestor I use a simple wrap around foam noise filter on my GoPro when I'm videoing on my motorcycle rides. It seems to cut the wind noise pretty well. But that is using the mic built into the camera. A separate mic would work best for what you're doing. Wireless would be ideal, but you can also get wired ones for a little less money. Rode makes some great mics, wireless and wired. Search on RU-vid and Amazon for Rode microphone, GoPro microphone, etc, As far as wind noise, there are plenty of filters available. Something called a "dead cat" seems to be pretty popular. It's not what it sounds like. LOL. :-) Search Google, RU-vid or Amazon for "dead cat mic filter". Good luck!
