Good vid.. Cosina made your version of the Vivitar (serial starting 9). This version is sharper corner to corner than the Tokina made version. Several others also had a hand in producing the 24mm.. They all have certain benefits and disadvantages but the one you have is unanimously voted best everywhere.. Keep up the good work : )
Respectable post, Gianluca👍. Vid shows that vintage lens + capable (Italian)😁 photographer = fine photography. Uplifting choice of music - drum solo adds to the mood. History a plus. Noticed that the lens has an old Nikon mount; so, adapter would be Nikon to Sony, yes? I’ve had a few Vivitar lenses and your comments are spot on about their performance. The company was bought out by Sakar - you can still buy a few new Vivitar branded budget lenses, but you get what you pay for. (Sample: $84 US for 420-800mm f/ 8.3 manual focus T-mount push-pull zoom lens.) Talking head segment audio has a bit of reverb. Some sound absorbing stuff in the room might help - also, if you tried pinning the mic to your t-shirt. Congrats on 500 subs🎉. Keep posting, Gianluca, and you will pass the 1K mark in no time. Would love to see more street photography vids featuring you home town. Cheers!
Thanks man, really appreciate these kinds of comments🙏 You are right, the adapter is Nikon to Sony. I will try to improve audio in the room while I record, I am still working on that studio in my free time, it's a bit time-consuming so I do what I can do 😅
What others 24mm vintage lens do you recomend? I look for character .. 24mm in aps-c makes 35mm.. good focal for me..also share with you manual focus experience (using zone focusing) for street photography..Un saludo!
Hola Miguel, thanks for this comment. I actually have no other 24 mm lenses to suggest, since this Vivitar is my "best to" for street photography. Hope to try something new soon and get back here 📸
Hey man I'm new to your channel. I really enjoyed how the video was put together! It was well shot, well paced, well edited. But the audio was really bad I'm sorry :(. Maybe look into de-essing your recordings because it was really really distracting
@@gianlucairaggi no problem man! I literally just came across your channel this morning. The algorithm suggested your video haha. I really love your photography. Looking forward to what you do next 👍
I don't know, never tried Fuji cameras. I certainly will in the future .. Honestly, I actually prefer Sony but I keep my door open to explore. Are you a Fuji shooter? If so, which model?
@@gianlucairaggi For my work, I shoot Canon for almost 2 decades.... A few years ago I've bought A Sony a7III as a daily/street/travel camera but sold it after almost a year to try Fuji. I've picked XT3 for many reasons, and I'm super happy with it... Felt in love with Fuji system immediately, colours, size/weight/ ergonomics/ jpg profile options etc etc.... I don't mind it being an APSC sensor at all, and I was super sceptic about it before I bought it.... It's such a pleasure to use this camera.... now I'm waiting for XPro4. I've got Vivitar 24mm and 135 mm amongst many other manual lenses... the Images Fuji produces with those old manuals are simply exceptional. All the best to You
I have the Sony a7iv and a Fuji xt5 and the fuji colors are really something else. A7iv for work and xt5 for actually having fun taking pictures. Sony has way better sharpness than Fuji, but sometimes you don’t want that ultra clear picture and want it to be more “vintage” looking. I suggest you rent it out one day to test it out. Great video by the way!
