The safety of travel in Egypt has been coming up a lot amongst people considering a trip here since the war began across Egypt's borders 2 months ago. After the video I made in October, I decided to go out again and interview people here on the streets to ask them "Do they feel safe in Egypt?"
Welcome to the channel! My name's Gisselle, I'm a budget traveler and have been to 6 out of the 7 continents, visiting 20+ countries, living for some time in Sydney, Australia as well as in Saigon, Vietnam. I am currently based in Cairo, Egypt and exploring all this beautiful country has to offer while visiting nearby countries as well. I am a lover of language and a culturally curious lady just making my way through life one day at a time. I live to learn, I love to travel and explore, try new things and meet interesting people anywhere and everywhere in the world. Come along with me as I solo travel the globe and discover fascinating new places, try delicious local food, meet lovely people, and share a moment in time on this beautiful planet, our Earth.

Very safe! I came back from Alexandria 10 days ago. It had a relaxed and warm atmosphere. The people happy to see tourists come to visit. Felt safe, life happening as normal. Will come back to explore more of Egypt in the future.

Egypt is truly one of friendliest countries I have ever lived or visited. People from Cairo all the way down to Aswan (and of course Alexandria and Sinai) are hilariously funny, warm to welcome, and of course eager to socialize. I'm so glad you are making this content and showing the world just how great Egypt is.

I am from Philadelphia area. I just came back from Egypt. During our 2-week tour, we went to the southern border of Abu Simbee, northern tip of Alexandria, East coast of Hurghada, the Suez Canal ai Ismalia, multiple cities on the Nile and , of course, Cairo. No safety issues at all. The ongoing war did not have any impact on tourism industry except that the cross canal ferry was shut down. All tourists hotspots were guarded by armed police. We appreciated the special agents’ protection who traveled with us. They had loaded mini automatic rifles under their armpits. I would be more concerned to visit Philadelphia.

Oh don't worry, Egypt is completely safe to explore on your own! That's what I was doing as soon as I arrived 2 years ago, and what I've been doing ever since 😁😎 I've never heard of the restaurant you are referring to, but let me suggest another restaurant that is also famous for their grilled meats including camel and pigeon. It's called Abla Quail and is located in Kirdasa, which is the area in Giza which is most famous for camel meat. Here's the location if you consider visiting it: maps.app.goo.gl/P887a2CdEDPkPmTZ6 It's actually just a few minutes from the place where I tried camel and made the video about it. I don't know if I'd be able to tag along with you, as I almost always have a full schedule of work, then Arabic class, and then recording videos and editing them for the channel when I'm not working or taking classes myself 😅 But message me when you're here and who knows, maybe I'll have a free afternoon or evening 😁 Either way, you're going to have a blast in Egypt ❤

@@Gventures the bab-elmandab strait is far south by the Indian ocean. Somalian pirates 🏴‍☠️ are replaced by Yemeni pirates is my guess. It’s affecting the number of ships passing the Suez canal. So it’s more of an economic issue to Egypt.

I really appreciate the video topic! I am not sure it helped my decision much as a drone attack just happened nearby. I also appreciated the one guys comment of what Sissi said on Oct 28th. It is also great to see the comments on here with travelers who were recently there. Thanks again for the video. (I think you could cut more of your questions and shorten the video with just their responses)

Yeah I thought about that, it was tiring to say and also to hear the same question over and over again as I was editing the video, but I decided to keep the entire exchange in the video in case people thought I perhaps stopped people and spoke to them first before conducting the interview, instead of just running up on them and asking them these questions like I did, so to keep it transparent as possible I left it. But it was really annoying to hear me say the same things over and over again 😆

I went there towards the end of November for 10 days and it felt very safe. Traveled to Hurghada from the UK and took the go bus to Luxor for a few days and visited Aswan too. It was all fine and there was no sign or mention of the war maybe because we were on the move all the time but everyone was friendly and the locals made us feel welcomed and safe.
@Gventures
@Gventures 6 месяцев назад
No I don't think it was because you were constantly on the move, because I am not moving around all that much and I don't hear about it either, it's just not really discussed here, people are focusing on their daily lives. Glad to hear you had a good time and felt welcomed and safe! ❤

I just came back from Egypt yesterday I had 14 days going all over Egypt. I had the best time they had private police with us all the time. he had machine gun with him and we were totally safe. We had the best time there are not so many tourists we had all the temples to ourselves. No line to go inside the pyramid. thanks so much for your videos. It helped a lot. Because of your video I didn’t cancel my trip. Thanks a million.

Wow, thank you so much!!! So happy to hear you decided to come, and had a good time! 🙏🙏🙏 Yes there are less tourists this year because people are scared and cancelling their trips, so it is nice for the people that still came like you, because the sites are a lot emptier than they normally would be! Cheers! 🥂

Gzael , safe = amenah like a female name so you can say "enta be teftekr Masr amenah ?" = do you think egypt is safe , or you can say "hal feh amn fee Masr" = is there safety in egypt , amn = security . And then you can add in relation to whats is happening to the region = "be khsos elle hasel fe elmantekah" . Hopefully it helps. And my own opinion I do not trust the regieme but in terms of people i have no issue with them in regards safety. I do get tons of tips about egypt from you, and hopefully will visit it sometime soon in the future, thanks and keep up the good work 🙏

I actually don't have any plans to make another video about safety here, because I have plans for videos for the next month or two already that I am working on 😅 But I can assure you the safety here is the same as it was yesterday as it was 2 months ago as it was when I made this video in December. The media is full of fear mongering, but life is completely normal here in Egypt. However, if you want to hear from people other than me, you can always get on Facebook groups such as Travel in Egypt or Egypt Travel Tips and Tourism (these are just a few examples, there are plenty of groups!) and make a post asking about the safety from people traveling here in Egypt now. I am sure you will have plenty of positive responses, because it's completely fine here 😊👍👌

Oh don't worry, news is always full of fearmongering. It's totally safe here, the same level of safety as it was 2 years ago when I first arrived to Egypt. Plenty of tourists are here now enjoying their time on the Red Sea, taking Nile Cruises, and exploring ancient sites all over the country. Enjoy your trip 😁🥰

@Gventures
@Gventures 4 месяца назад
Sorry man, I actually have no idea what it's like in Rehaab with a box. I live in Giza and have WIFI. I can say my internet is relatively stable though, I rarely have issues (but sometimes the power goes out, then of course it's an issue). That hasn't happened in a while, but I have a friend who's power goes out daily for an hour or two. She lives in a different area than I do though.

When the woman says, "against the government yes, the people no," when referencing Egyptian feelings towards Americans. I have found this to be a very prevalent and much appreciated sentiment from many of the people I meet abroad. I wish more Americans could experience this, as well as practice it. There was so much to that moment. I'm late to your videos and it must've been that algorithm thingy that's always mentioned by RU-vidrs! lol Eh, it worked for once. I believe my love of markets dropped you in my feed, and I am grateful. Please forgive the paragraph, for the time being I am bound stateside without any trips on deck.

@Gventures Месяц назад
Lol, that's so awesome. Markets are the best! One of my favorite things to do in a new country is go explore and get lost in the local markets. It gives you a real look into how local life functions in the country, and there is always so many exciting things to see and experience. It's sensory overload in the best possible sense! 😄❤ Happy you found my channel, thank you so much for watching! 😊🙏

Lol. I don't always know, if they aren't very obviously westerners or South/Southeast/East Asia. For example, an Egyptian may be able to tell if someone is from Jordan or Saudi Arabia (can you tell? I don't know), but I would probably not know at a glance. I know you were joking, but now I'm kind of curious 😅
