Update Still popping out carbs Escort Mk1 Pinto 

i have seen that before on similar set ups , i would try a bit more ignition advance .

I have same similar set up in a 100e new 45’s car runs like shit pop bang runs rich on idle 7 +percent co ease engine speed to 1500-1800 it leans down to 0.020 on co . Used different jet sizes like you have with no luck . Ripped them of today and put a set of 40’s on that have been sat for meany year and the car runs great no popping at all .

ive just fixed the same problem on a set of 40s it was the mixture screw settings on one of the cards hope this helps

I've had them on a escort I owned same engine and tbh the only difference I noticed was the fuel consumption very little if any performance.

Are the carbs synchronised mine pop bad when they arnt

Need the carbs balanced and synchronised up to stop popping

Is it the same carb / throat everytime? Mine has a bent buttefly in it, currently being rebuilt so hoping that fixes the popping on mine.

Is you fuel regulator pressure ok if it’s not that can cause it stumble and splutter
