@@MotoMirius let me know how it performs. I checked my brake setup. Remember we spoke about this. Basically the brakes are over heating cause of the bigger master and a cooling duct will be a great solution. So please make a initial impression video if possible. Thanks

Have you crashed your bike yet with the crash bars? Does it work good? I was always afraid it would mess with the engine since the screws run though it.
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
Watch the video again and you will see the scrape marks down the crash bars. Yes, I've crashed it more than once, yes, they work very well - all good crash bars mount where the engine mounts to the frame - this is a very strong part of the frame. I've taken the crash bars off several times and there is no bending. A high speed crash will damage them more - but this is their job, to take the damage instead of the expensive parts of the bike.

Hi I just saw your video about decatting the bike, I just got a duke 125 2020 with an akrapovic slip on but while I was reading through the comments I saw that KTM dealerships don't want to remove the db killer, so I was thinking about removing only the presilencer (I tried to convince my dad to let me buy a piggyback but he doens't let me), could you please link a presilencer delete in europe? thanks!
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
The db killer is part of the emissions legislation compliance so I'm not surprised that KTM dealerships won't want to do that work themselves and also more likely they probably don't want the risk of damaging an expensive slip on. I don't think that I've seen anyone selling just a presilencer delete pipe. It's quite simple to remove the db killer and I have a video on the subject - you can just drill a hole, but it carries risks (I have managed to drill the hole in the wrong place in making a video on the subject - this sort of thing happens when your concentration is split between the job and talking to camera).

Hi, would you recommend to upgrade rear shock and front shock cartridge from KTech or Ohlins?
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
If you are a heavier rider or you do track days or ride fast, then yes, I would recommend. As I am within the weight the stock suspension is designed for and I don't do track days - the roads here are too busy for fast technical riding, it works well enough for me - upgrade would be good but for me not worth the money.
@Khuongreview
@Khuongreview 2 года назад
@@MotoMirius I cannot thank you enough. I check the manual for payload of both front and back suspension and find out that the stocks are very capable suspension. Thanks to you that now I just save my money for things that are important.

Hi sir. Can the Gen 1 RC 390 be fitted with 320mm rotors from Gen 2
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 3 месяца назад
It can depend what year as the wheels change, but you will also need the 20mm spacers and longer bolts from a gen2 Duke/RC to move the caliper out so that it will fit the larger disk.

Do you have any experience with the HEL brake lines on these bikes?
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius Год назад
No, but I have no issues with them. Unless you are bypassing the ABS you are replacing one set of braided lines with another. For street riding I wouldn't expect to see much difference.
@ITzWolfx
@ITzWolfx Год назад
@@MotoMirius this is what I was wondering as I’m looking at getting galpher discs for mine and noticed the lines were already ‘braided’. Got a set of EBC Sintered pads to go on as well but the one thing that absolutely does my head in is the lacklustre performance of the rear brakes on these bikes. I’m hoping a swap of discs and a new set of sintered pads will improve the braking more
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius Год назад
@@ITzWolfx Front factory pads are often sintered. I have no issues with the the rear which is why mine is still stock - I can easily lock the rear wheel once ABS is off. If you are getting fade because you are trail braking etc then sure improved pads and disk at the rear are a good upgrade.

If you people think this is going to make your 390 stop faster your smocking crack If r1m and v4r don’t bother using them what kind of a difference could they possibly make on a 30hp beginner bike
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
Brake ducts were developed by the British superbike team. As ever, racing rules don't allow all upgrades because they need to limit the speed of the bikes.
@shonith91
@shonith91 2 года назад
My thoughts were the same. If this small mod would make such a significant difference then the 1000cc bikes would probably have them by now as stock, if not atleast as an accessory.
@jacksdad7933

Having raced KTM SM and Road racing, for about the same cost much better to upgrade to a brand name radial m/c which should be one of the first things to do plus pads, then rotor, flush fluid every season. Not a bad idea but more gimmick than substance.
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
If you listened to the video you would have heard me say much the same - except the caliper, for me that comes after this.
@jacksdad7933
@jacksdad7933 2 года назад
@@MotoMirius I did listen and did not hear upgrading to radial m/c mentioned even once. If you want to know how to do it right, just copy what Ari Henning did to his record breaking RC390's brake-same setup as mine, only I still have abs. I'll put the performance of my my Magura HC-1 radial m/c against your bagaroos air scoop any day, lol. Personally I use loctite THREADLOCKER 242 blue for jobs like this ,don’t use red THREADLOCKER as you will never get the bolt out again without heating the bolt first and when it’s an engine part ie oil involved I use THREADLOCKER 243 blue

Screws and bolts are very similar - a screw is tightened into a part, a bolt is tightened by a nut.
@MotoMirius
@MotoMirius 2 года назад
'Red' loctites are specified for this location - because the heat from the brakes releases the threadlocker and a 'blue' threadlocker is considered too weak as a result. Loctite 204 is recommended by KTM

Carbon fibre is always expensive - I waited for the part to be on sale for a better price. If you have some construction skills you can make your own.
