Something I've always wanted to try. Having owned this bar for years longer than I've owned any Trans-Ams, I've long dreamt of making this controller power some big 55w Halogen bulbs as the original did. Today is the day that happens.
I did the same exact thing with mine. The funny thing is how you can hear the pitch of the relays go up and down like that. You would think it would be even all the way across but it isn't. It's kinda neat, but kinda strange too. Thanks for sharing. 👍
nice job! a quick tip i build my own scanner to and i did it from scratch including the controler did the coding ect working on adding the sound module now but i would just use a 8 channel 12 v 10 to 15 amp Relay much smaller compact and faster to wire it all up since you already got the controller its 30 min to wire it all up brotha!!! i will be uploading a video of it all soon cheers
Thanks man! You know, that was actually always the plan to use one of the 8 channel relay boards, but there weren't any available on Amazon Prime at the time with the whole Covid thing going on, so I just took what I could get to get the project going 😉 I'll keep an eye out for your video, gave you a sub 👍
i do have a video just never got around to upload it i wo t be able to for few months but i do have a video of it runing on my test bed ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LAEUshKy7ZY.html
Very nice job! That's what I wanted to do to my J. C. Whitney back in the day... but found an even better way to do it without the relays.... use the 2N something zener diodes.... but then I found a guy that made the high powered ones and bought his. You have done an excellent job here! It was so tedious to do I know... but it came out great in the end! George from South Carolina USA
Ok cool if you can find a light bar just get one and change the bulbs to lower watts or LEDS use this guys wire diagram black connects to all. Ebay some guy has a metal silver bar kinda expensive for two hundred just wire it up and change the bulbs so the JC witney box can run them.
