Nice, detailed video. I bought my 48/48 when they first came out. I absolutely love it

*Bought as a gift for my son and his second grade son to use on a Pinewood Derby car. Wanted something relatively safe and able to be packed away when not in use. Worked well. **MyBest.Tools** Easy to use and set up. Case provides good storage.*

Great video, Evan. Very informative and well organized. I just bought the 36/36 and can’t wait to get it installed. Your video certainly will help with that. Thanks, man.

Scott, thank you for the feedback! I know this video was a little niche but hopefully people who are interested in this product specifically (like yourself) will benefit! Thanks for the encouragement!

Still seems like an awesome table! Well made and super useful! Dust collection is not great, but other than that it is excellent.

Some things to think about: The most inexpensive size they make now 24/36 is a whopping $600 plus with domestic shipping. WoW~ This is the machine I worry the least about with dust collection because the shavings are usually large and they are not the tiny air born type that get in your lungs. I usually have to run a batch of 200 holes at a time a couple times a week so if the table doesn't collect 100% of the shavings then it would be of little value. I am always holding a line of compressed air in one hand and with a quick blast... all the shavings are off the table, which I would have to do anyway if it wasn't collecting 100% of the shavings because I can't have any shavings on the table when I put in a new piece or it would offset the center hole. Also, it looks like the dust collection would only work decent if your drill hole was right at the suction hole. If you are making a drill hole say 6 inches away from the edge..the dust collection would reduce greatly since the suction would be reduced greatly the farther the drill bit is away from the suction actual hole. And like most of us, we are always doing "end of day" clean up regardless so a few extra shavings on the ground doesn't mean a great deal. I would rather buy something else in my shop for $600. But none of that takes away from your review...you did a great job reviewing this item.

I agree with 100% of what you said! The main value I see after a year+ of having the table are all the non-dust collection items, large table, fence stops, clamping hold downs, drawer underneath. Nothing you couldn't make in a home made table setup, but this setup is very nice overall (assuming the price point made sense to the individual).

I noticed in the end of the video you wet the board before you branded it. Why is that? Does it provide a cleaner brand?

Nice instructional video. I'm thinking of purchasing this system but have a few questions: 1) I can just fit the 48" fence in my space. Do you see a need for the 48" or would the 36" work as well 90%+ of the time? 2) I've read the flip-stop micro adjustment arms are not very stable. Have you had this issue? 3) I've also head some don't like the knuckle clamps and prefer the pivot type. What is your experience with the knuckle clamps? Thanks - Mike

Do you ever run into any issues with handles on the drill press hitting fence as you spin them around? Thx
@johnsanford3596
@johnsanford3596 2 года назад
is there any way to lock the micro-adjust on the flip stops? Given how easily those spun, I'm concerned that they might move from the vibration of the drill press.
@CypressDesignWorks
@CypressDesignWorks 2 года назад
Hi John, I haven’t see this as an issue, but if you move the micro adjust all the way in you can snug it tight!

I'm having a problem lining up the drill bit with the replacement block center hole - maybe my WEN drill press isn't ideal for this table top? I thought what I had was universal???
@CypressDesignWorks

Hey Jennifer, is the depth an issue (front to back alignment) or the width (side to side alignment)?

Can I use it to drill 3 inch square tubing 7 ft long?
@CypressDesignWorks
@CypressDesignWorks 2 года назад
If you get the larger table, certainly. You will need to support the end if you’re cutting at the ends of the tubing though.

If stuff comes packed in high-quality foam, I reuse it when I send something out. It's much better for the environment than tossing paper; so even when I'm not trying (and not caring), I'm doing better than you, I guess.
@CypressDesignWorks
@CypressDesignWorks 3 года назад
So I’m glad to hear you were using your foam packaging, but you are not correct in your assessment. Paper packaging comes from a renewable source, and is 100% recyclable! Foam comes from oil and is not recycled after use. Even if paper is only used once before recycling it still has an incredibly smaller carbon footprint.

@@CypressDesignWorks You’re wrong, and typical of environmentalist-types, you have believed what you are told and oversimplify the analysis. SOMETIMES paper is better than plastic, and SOMETIMES plastic is better than paper. It depends on the application. What is almost certain, though, is that me reusing plastic is better than single-use paper. There’s a Forbes article on this very subject from about a year ago, IIRC. See, I can even refer you to an eco-religious periodical. www.forbes.com/sites/woodmackenzie/2020/08/24/is-paper-a-more-sustainable-flexible-packaging-material-than-plastic/ . Oh, and BTW, my SO has been deeply immersed in sustainability of all things (from protein sources to food packaging) for over a decade now, and she makes decisions that have significant consequences, so she can’t be wrong. Don’t believe everything you’re told.
