For a long time i was absolutely terrified of chiropractors specifically upper cervical, i was so afraid of an adjustment making my already debilitating symptoms worse. so i pushed off going to get an adjustment as long as i could..... ...... but if there is one thing i could change about my healing journey its i wish i had gotten my upper cervical adjustment as soon as i started having symptoms. i feel that would have made my symptoms better from the very start. in this video i interview Dr. Lee Angle a chiropractor recommended to me by caring medical. i pray this video brings helpful information to those in need.

What is CCI?
Craniocervical instability (CCI) is a medical condition where there is increased mobility at the craniocervical junction, where the skull meets the spine. The ligamentous connections of the craniocervical junction can be stretched, weakened, or ruptured, leading to stretching and/or compression of the brainstem, upper spinal cord, or cerebellum, causing myelopathy, neck pain, and a range of other symptoms.0 CCI is caused by ligament laxity between the skull and the top two vertebrae (the atlas and the axis), which allows excessive movement and leads to a long list of physical and neurological symptoms.3 CCI primarily occurs in patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other hereditary disorders of connective tissue.2 Symptoms of CCI include excruciating pain close to the neck, skull, and shoulders.
What is prolotherapy?
Prolotherapy is a nonsurgical regenerative injection technique that involves injecting a small amount of an irritant solution, usually a form of sugar called dextrose, into joints, ligaments, or tendons.2 The injection stimulates the growth of new cells to heal painful areas.1 The body recognizes the irritant and sends immune cells and other chemicals to the area, which starts the body's natural healing process.3 Prolotherapy is used to relieve pain by directly impacting the underlying condition causing that pain. It is a safe and proven treatment that offers lasting relief for many conditions, such as facet syndrome, whiplash, joint sprains, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, sprains, chronic tendonitis, and more.4 The exact composition of the injection depends on the patient's needs.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.”

Thanks for this video Josh! I’m happy you found relief. I have really severe CCI. My own experience has let me form the opinion that AO and nucca are not safe for all cases of CCI. For me I was in hospital from four AOs. They made me worse and I’m still not recovered. Dystonia, started, moved my jaw bones etc. I only go to one AO who saved my life! No one will ever touch my neck again. He is so precise and so so gentle and accurate. For me that was vital!

Thanks for sharing. Your story sounds just like my journey with CCI. I injured my neck 18 months ago & have seen over 20 different docs & specialist. I just had a DMX which finally confirmed my CCI. Im scheduled for PICL at Centeno Shultz in CO in a few wks. Like you, its been a long journey but atleast finally getting a confirmed diagnosis thanks to youtube & Dr Google! Lol. Good luck with your journey. Keep us posted on your improvements.

My UCC saved my life! And Dr Hauser did too bc it was from all his research I found on the vagus nerve (after getting worse and worse by not being taken seriously by Drs) that I decided to try the upper cervical chiropractor my friend had told me about. From what I had learned on Caring Medical's website I was sure I had upper cervical instability, and also learned - like you guys brought out in the video - that atlas misalignment and instability have basically all the same symptoms and the 2 kinda go hand-in-hand. It was a roller coaster in my symptoms for the first 2 to 3 months of getting adjusted but I knew it was working bc some things like my spasms and digestion improved almost immediately and in the 3 months like she had told me I was significantly better but still struggling that's when I went to Hauser, got the tests they do in the office and he sent me home to get 2 MRIs and a ct venogram which none of the neurologists I had seen would order 😡😡 so literally had to end up paying out of pocket for them and didn't get back to Caring Medical till last November, 8 months after my instability diagnosis

Was just wondering how your prolo treatments went at Caring medical from Dr. Hauser. Were they painful? How many treatments did you get before you felt better? Have you regressed at all since treatment? I'm considering getting evaluated by caring med but it's very expensive. Were you able to submit treatment to your insurance? Lastly, would you recommend caring medical from your own experience?

Interesting video. I have been getting upper cervical chiropractic adjustments for the last 3 months using the “Blair technique.” I have mixed feelings, because in the beginning I got worse for about 2 months, ended up in the emergency room 4 times. However, I’ve been better in the last month. Not symptom free, but I haven’t had a major crisis which is a relief. I haven’t gotten prolotherapy though so I don’t know how good it would be in conjunction.

Much like everything in this world- not all chiropractors are created equal. Find a good one don’t let them do harsh adjustments. If your chiropractor is using more than three fingers to adjust your neck, somethings wrong. Run.

@@theprolopatient The adjustment looked pretty much the same as it did in your video. I believe that’s called the “Blair upper cervical technique” or something or like that. It’s very gentle but it’s been up and down for me.

I think of a lot of it boils down to how hypermobile you are in the condition of your muscles. If your muscles are guarding, and really stiff and adjustment can temporarily aggravate the vagus nerve and you may have a spike and symptoms. But for me, it’s the same thing with prolo I got a spike in my symptoms then after I heal for a week it’s a small percent better than before. Definitely an up-and-down game with CCI
