I was Abit upset that they didn't show him after the war was won and I think he was definitely play a major major role in tybw which is super interesting because the same thing happened in the arrancar arc he also played a big role there Although this time was different because kisuke finally fights personally
Im fine with his ending, if Kibo accutally makes a new long arc with the Hell Arc. If not, then they should have shown his fate. If we get a new arc, then we might loose Mayuri in Hell and finally get Kisuke as Captain again. (Not to say, that his skill and his inventions would acctually make him a fine candidate for the 0 Division)
I just wish Kisuke was the only MVP and Mayuri was taken out by Uryuu, who also demonstrates the power of the Antithesis and has a small interaction with Nemu. A man can dream. Also yes, I did find his ambiguous fate annoying for years, and I was beyond happy that the Hell chapter gave us confirmation of his survival.

Kisuke is about plans and results. He uses others and sets pieces for very specific outcomes regardless of the consequences with his personal relations with said people, even if it's a long term friend like Yoruichi. He gets involved to ensure the finality of his plans though to be fair it involves essentially saving the worlds. At least he's now prospering and expanding his shop to other regions of Japan. And Yoruichi is an instructor at the academy.
Something that people don't usually mention is that Kisuke is practically Ichigo's godfather, in the sense that out of anyone, he had the biggest hand in Ichigo's birth and (power) growth. Even with learning Bankai, though Yoruichi trained him directly, Kisuke still created all the tools for him to succeed. You could argue that Aizen is the one that created White, which eventually led to Ichigo, but Kisuke is the one that stepped in without Aizen's foresight. Kisuke is an unmatched mastermind, to the point where his unintended consequences end up working better than the initial plan (assuming he DIDN'T plan any of this).
Kisuke is the Batman of Bleach. He has a contingency plan for every possible setback and obstacle. Except it’s more believable with Kisuke since he’s centuries old.
Truth. In a way his drive to see his plans through to the end no matter the cost may be the product of pyschological trauma caused by Aizen getting the better of him, derailing his life/career.
Kisukes vibe to me has always been the man who is willing to do whatever is absolutely necessary, not because he is an immoral person, but because he knows what would happen if he doesn't. If people hate him, if people get hurt, if sacrifices have to be made, he will carry that regret with him because someone has to. I think it's total pragmatism despite his empathy, rather than lacking in empathy. I think his bankai exemplifies this because he uses it to continue fighting knowing that afterwards, all of those injuries, all that pain, will come straight back. He will sacrifice anything and everything to make sure the good guys win, including himself.
True, but I don't think regret has anything to do with it because he does that over and over, he was also trained as an assassin to show zero remorse (I doubt he remembers anyone he killed in that time). But again it was for the greater good so it can't be understated.
@@manuelacosta9463 I was thinking that he does regret what he has to do, but will always do it anyway. We see that he cares, and I do believe he is saddened when he has to go to an extreme measure But will ALWAYS make the hard choice if it's his only option. I don't think he regrets actually doing the thing, but rather regrets being forced into a position where it was necessary. We know he gets emotionally attached and we know he is saddened by loss, so I'm just not sure I buy the idea that he never feels guilty for what he's had to do

He did display a sense of self reflection at the end of CFYOW in general, even expressing shock at Yoruichi wanting to brainwash Hisagi especially the menacingly paranoid state she was in, even pointing out that she normally does not care for Soul Society's nobility and their secrets. His wanting to be punished if ever he crosses the line into world threatening villain means his heart in ultimately in the right place and he knows his limits and lines.
@@manuelacosta9463 it's so interesting, because the "willing to go too far to ensure a win" is so often a back-door to turning into a villian But potentially he tries not to get bogged down by actually considering the morality of his actions, because doing so could cause him to hesitate which would cost lives, and like you pointed out, if he truly went off the wall, yourichi would either let him know, or stop him

That moment really telegraphed both their apparent falling out postwar but also Yoruichi's sense of responsibility for maintaining stability even if it means going against her long time friend. Another potential for Kisuke's villainy is his need for control and manipulation.
Yeah but imagine if it was Mayuri and Urahara instead Mayuri and Kenpachi for instance. I'd love to see some wacked ass fan fictional writing would come of that. Also I ain't fighting either or them. Can catch me being a NPC zombie haha
Kisuke is like Dumbledore - he's a "for the greater good" kinda guy, and that sometimes makes him do pretty despicable things, but he's definitely not evil.

A mix of Dumbledore and Batman. I kinda missed a character in Harry Potter that hacks through everything like Kisuke does, but I guess that defies the whole concept of Harry Potter
there is something really really nice about kisuke and ichigo’s relationship, they grow from master and student to two friends who can rely on each other, you can imagine how good it felt to kisuke when ichigo called and said “hold on a little longer ok? im arriving and im going to deal with it” ichigo just takes an enormous weight from everyone’s shoulders and he sounds hella cool saying that lol
Kisuke did some really important stuff, as you would expect, but I think Mayuri is seen as the biggest MVP of the TYBW since his story ends in a very satisfying way. Plus, I think his battle with Pernida is a better overall fight then Kisuke’s final fight, even though Askin was a great character.
Really? What Mayuri did is a shade below Urahara. During the time where the Bankais of 4 Captains were stolen, it was Urahara who restored it. It was Urahara who act during the most crucial time. Do not base your so called MVP role only due to the fight.
@@chavaspada Warning him only but he failed to persuade him. MVP is a role that utilize all your resources at your disposal at the most crucial time. In that regard Urahara is way ahead Mayuri that is the very reason why Ywach regarded him as a Special War Power in which Mayuri never attained.
Might I add that he might've actually planned and prepping this, waaaay back when Masaki died, let's be clear here Ryuen's wife also died during this time and Urahara is someone who continuously observed both of these people's lives when Aizen also knew about Yhwach killing Ichigo's mom. There is no way that with everything we've known about Kisuke and how he operates, that he did not see the Quincy King's eventual return, when two Women who were not of pureblood were coincidentally found dead during the same day and time. There could be a discussion here that everything that went on in this war, everything was within his calculations. Sealing Aizen after basically starting the plot of Bleach by using Rukia as bait in order draw out Aizen and then to use Aizen against Yhwach; after the death of Ginjo and Tsukishima he could've then sent Kukaku to retrieve them before the gotei were aware of their existence, remember even Kukaku couldn't say no to his tasks for some reason the book and movie until you understand. He knew full well the captains would not listen to Mayuri so he was already prepping his lab in case the Quincy made new "equipments" to hinder soul society, He seemed to have been well prepared about how Quincy's operate and the spells or tools they use, I wouldn't be Surprised that Ryuen gave him special privileges when it comes to uncovering the secrets of the Quincies since he was the one who technically saved Masaki using his own method. He was well prepared to strike a deal with the Arrancars and knew how to get them on his side.I don't know if it was explained but maybe Urahara himself inspired Ryuen to become a doctor. Anyways going back to the main point Askin himself was pondering about his title as a war potential and even Yhwach had some stuff to say about how even he the man who could see the future, could not for certain say that Urahara Kisuke would not have any way of completely derailing him and warns Askin to be as prepared as Urahara if he wants to live or win. That my friends is probably what Askin found so terrifying about Kisuke, this man who did not have the same augmented body as Mayuri which allows Mayuri to adapt in a fight if not he'd be dead ten times over, neither the Reiatsu level as Aizen, nor the battle prowess of Kenpachi, the Wisdom of Ichibe and the Latent ability of Ichigo, nor the gift of foresight via the Almighty; this man went on the back stage and literally carved it into their being that "I foresaw all these and it was well within my calculations" MVP of the war? Lmao fuck that, MVP of the series that's for sure. Ryuen and Ishin arriving in soul society without Yhwach even seeing this possibility, while giving Uryu the still silver, Tsukishima coming in with his book of the end, Aizen beig there; all I want is for Urahara's final scene in the war basically muttering "Check and mate"
Is that even a real question???? Between Kisuke and Aizen both could be viewed as and considered Saviors of the entire series of Bleach. Considering both played a key role and influence in shaping Ichigo from what he was, into what he's become.
kisuke is just. such a cool character. he holds such a amazing role in what is bleach, and just has such an incredible influence on the actions of others and most importantly, the soul society. he’s so cool, smart, clever, and just such a badass character. so proud to say he’s my #1 favorite in bleach. what a goat.
Kisuke kinda reminds me of shikamaru with this ability to plan for almost any occurrence. Though I haven't actually read the TYBW arc, I know enough of what happens, BUT I can't wait to give it a faithful read and really put everything together!!
What I loved about this character is that when we see him, he just seems like a joking jovial kind of guy. But bit by bit, Kubo shows and reveals more of him and what level he really his. I would put him near the top of the captains. He is just such a so cool character. I am excited to see him this arc.
Would love to see how Rukia met Urahara and ended up with the relationship we see at the start of the series. Bit weird that the adopted daughter of a noble family would be so buddy-buddy with such a notorious criminal.

Yeah Mayuri was surprisingly amazing. That pernida fight is up there in best fights in the whole series to me. I went into it mad cause I'd rather see other stuff and it straight destroys my expectations.
Yeah it's called Bleach you see this man playing in the shadows, him, SK and Aizen are the only real players on the board; Yamamoto, Ichibe, Gotei, Ichigo, it hurts to say it but even Yoruichi and Tessai are nothing more but pieces on the board when these two go at it with their wits.

Kisuke is my favorite character and I remember when his Bankai was revealed people were upset and complaining but if u ask me the Bankai is not only OP but suits kisuke perfectly.
@@truthspreader1996 let me preface this by stating i know im late but what i mean is it suits Kisuke perfectly because of its versatility and near endless possible applications. I mean imo, i believe it even mirrors his shikai in that with his shikai he utilizes "blood red energy" in a multitude of ways/purposes. Theres the regular energy blast he swing from the sword, theres the blood mist shield for defense, theres the blood red net that not only restricts the enemy and binds them but then he stabs it and orbs on the ends blow it up. And with his bankai u can get the same versatility, we've seen him open up Askin's arm, heal his own eyes that were completely obliterated, strengthened his own arm, he made a passageway into Askins inescapable gift ball thing etc. Then you factor in other possibilities, his bankai lets him deconstruct and reconstruct whatever is withing his range.

@@michaelmoss1515 No, Isshin was born in Soul Society (remember, he was a head of the Shiba clan), and so he never had a physical body. The only character who can swap between physical and spirit like that is Kazui.

@@Turnpost2552 he created the hogyoku which caused aizen to seek it. He put it in rukia which caused aizen to search for her. He essentially made aizen a prison for it. He caused Ichigo to lose his powers to trap aizen. He created Ichigo. He planned to use Ichigo as a soul king. He was responsible for the hollowfication experiment.

Aizen knew it was imperfect so he seek Urahara's to perfect it by combined both. He didn't planned to use Ichigo as Soul King, that was Ichibei and to some extend, Kyoraku. I love that characters like kisuke, mayuri, aizen and (briefly) Szlayel bring a science fiction component to Bleach and adds a nice bit of complexity to the storytelling. Whithout it, the series would be limited to a typical magical fantasy story.

i can't wait to see my favorite guy URAHARA in the anime and I really hope that cubo will make some extra scenes including URAHARA and YOURICHI at the end of this arc OR MAYBE SOME EXTRA SCENES SHOWING THAT NILL MANAGED TO SAVE THEM

I don't understand Mayuri's beef with Kisuke at all. Wasn't Kisuke the one who got him out of prison??? If it weren't for Kisuke, Mayuri would still be rotting inside a cell
I think Mayuri’s beef is with kisuke just because the simple fact that he feels like a 2nd rate scientist compared to kisuke. It always seems like he’s trying to catch up/surpass kisuke to prove to himself that he’s just as good or better than kisuke.
@@forthe3136 Add to the fact that when the truth about why Kisuke was exiled in the 1st place came out. He probably felt like many viewed Kisuke as the rightful captain of squad 12 and they saw him as just a fill in.

I feel like that there was clearly so much groundwork and forshadowing, including Ywach flat out saying that Ishida can be the strongest quincy, that Kubo had so much planned to extend this far longer than what we got. Then at some point you notice things start happening too fast, plot holes form, and it felt lackluster compared to the work prior. That was when I realized Kubo had something going on and we would not get the ending we wanted. That we would not get the ending *he* wanted. Which is sad as he takes the heat for something he had no control over. His writing isnt perfect by any means. But it is way better than what we got for last chapters. The way Kisuke, Ichigo, and "Everything in Rain" was wrapped up in a neat little bow is proof of that.
IMO i think its a big oversight from Kubo to have Hiyori still talk and feel like this to Kisuke. She really didnt have a real reason to dislike him before and hes gone so far above and beyond proving his abilities and everything to her as well as the personal debt that he saved her and everyone elses she cares about lives. And continues to do so.

Urahara is probably a close runner up for MVP of the TYBW behind Mayuri. His role in the arc is really fun though because we get to see him in more action than ever before. It's great!
Urahara thought everything through so much that he framed Orihime and Chad for certain death. The situation was saved only by a passing "other character".
Wanted to buy all the bleach Special Edition box sets to go back through the series before the anime, so I read through the soul society arc. Set 2 seems nonexistent so went to watching the anime. Currently in the fullbring arc. Can't wait for the anime's return.
