Most Filipinos do not realize how much is really at stake for their country with all this militarization done by the United States. Allow me to explain why Filipinos should stop taking stupid pills from Uncle Sam and start asking questions why the US government is starting to acclimatize the Filipino public of the presence of its Missile Weapon Systems. Under the Pacific Deterrence Initiative masterplan of the US armed forces in the Indo Pacific (as reported by Japan's Nikkei Asia March 2021) the United States (long before local media started making noise about how EDCA is beneficial to the PH) has approved nearly 30 Billion USD for what it calls an “ANTI CHINA MISSILE NETWORK" to be deployed on the "FIRST ISLAND CHAIN" nations which starts from Okinawa, Japan to Taiwan and of course the last piece of the puzzle to complete the encirclement of China, the Philippines. Furthermore, it is noteworthy to mention that the United States did not renew its commitment to abide by the (INF) Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty which bans the deployment of Intermediate Range Tactical Nuclear Capable Missiles under the 500 to 5000 kilometers range category. The deployment of these missiles is further confirmed by a follow up report released by the Rand Corporation, a US government funded think tank, that published the report 1st Quarter of 2022 with the title: "Ground Based Intermediate Range Missiles in the Indo Pacific: Assessing the positions of US Allies in the Region". Knowing that the United States is no longer regulated to follow the ban imposed by the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty, the very important question that should be asked is...will Filipinos allow the deployment of Tactical Nuclear Capable Missiles aimed at China from locations within the territory of the Philippines?...knowing that the presence of these missiles increases the risks that China may retaliate with no less the same lethal weaponry? Imagine what the collateral damage will be to the Philippines in the event of an exchange of such lethal weaponry. More importantly, all that talk about how the Philippines will have a say on how these bases/EDCA sites will be used by the US Military is nothing more than pillow talk and western media propaganda because of the long standing policy of the United States government to neither confirm nor deny the presence of Tactical Nuclear Weapons on any of its bases on foreign soil.
