Because when Western and Japanese products are equal to Chinese in technologies, they could never match the Chinese in prices. First world countries want China to continue in making socks. Instead of stepping up themselves, they want to pull China down. The recent movement by the US against China has a very important background. When Libya, Iran, and China decided to ditch the US dollar in oil trades, Gaddafi’s was killed by the US, Iran was being sanctioned by the US, and now it’s China’s turn. The US has been printing money out of nothing. The only reason why the US Dollar is still widely accepted, is because it’s the only currency which oil is allowed to be traded with. The US has an agreement with Saudi that oil must be traded in US dollar ONLY. Without the petrol-dollar status, the US dollars will sink, and America will fall. Therefore anyone trying to disobey this order will be eliminated. China will soon use a gold-backed crypto-currency, the alarms in the White House go off like mad. The western reporters literally play this trick many times. 1. Try to get the securities’ attention (not police or government officials). 2. When they come up to talk yo you, ignore them and just point your camera at their face to irritate them. 3. When they reach out their hand to block the camera, you act like you are being forced away. If Chinese government doesn’t allow them to report, why does it allow them to set up office near Xinjiang and give them permit to go to Xinjiang to report? True. I am a Chinese living in Xinjiang for three years. You guys are so welcomed to come over to Xinjiang and see whatever you want with your own eyes. Xinjiang people are all very friendly here.
The whole Xinjiang story is an excuse for the US to stop China's development. The Americans just have no idea about how to exist in the world without being "No.1".
last year, I've traveled to Xingjiang, stay one month there, very safe, all people are peace and happy, government even built house for Uighur people in free, their children study in free, see doctor in free, they live much better life then before, many family have 5 or 6 child, they get much more social Welfare than Han nationality， can't understand why USA always said china let Xinjiang Uighur Genocide

I've stayed there with local Uighur people for one month , they lived much better life than before, if you go there, you can see in many place people dance happily, Uighur population increased 2 milion during these years.
Chinese media is controlled by the government. Letting them record multiple hours of high level talks just allows the CCP to edit a narrative better and blast it at home to serve whatever goal they want. US media on the other hand is independent of government control and would instantly create a narrative that would give them more ad revenue. There’s a pretty good chance that the second they start discussing lowering car tariffs 24 hour news networks would start blasting ‘Biden gives jobs to Chinese workers, doesn’t care about Detroit’ or some other reactionary non sense to get more people angry and watching ads. So if the media stays the Chinese get an easy win because they control their news and will edit out anything unfavorable while America is forced to deal with whatever narrative CNN/FOX pushes on them.

They control all of the media outlets within China and they don’t even try to hide it. Writing comments like these is probably your job which is also controlled and scripted by your government.
I am glad America is re-engaging with the world, but it would be nice if they take a step back and see whats going on within the country before preaching to others.
@Patrick Bateman I think America should do more towards educating its population. Rampant police brutality, black lives matter, increased attack on the Asian community, rise in white supremacist activities, January 6th riot etc... these are a few of the reasons.
