US / India/ Korea English vocabulary Differences!! 

As An Indian I think Indian English is Mixture of 60% British, 20% Native, 15% American and Rest 5% ETC...

India is a mixture of various cultures. We have different languages and dialects. She represented india very well.Its difficult to represent such a diverse country with rich culture… hats off to indian girl. Proud to be an indian❤❤❤

India's English was mostly British initially but with technological advancements and Hollywood movies, it has started aligning towards American English।

In India no one call "trousers", evryone calls it Pants..

I think in India people generally use Plug instead of full "electric plug"

Most people in india actually call it Pants. Interesting fact - Pants is the shortened form of pantaloon (which is how it was called in old english) and this word is to Pataloon which is the hindi word for pants. So the word pants actually comes the same word and the origin of this word is argued either to be from the hindi word itself or from Italian word Pantalone who was a character in a stage play.

In India Bus stand and Bus stop are two different things. Bus stop : the few places where bus stops in it's route for people to get in or out. Bus stand : The final destination where a lot of buses from different routes rest.

I think v should have Hindi words for everything just like they do cuz electric plug doesn't really have a Hindi word to it.. even if it does nobody uses it.. but in Korea they have all words in their native words

What I and people around me use in India Gas station - Petrol bunk (not petrol pump) Pants - pants as well (trousers are used to refer short pants ) Electric plug - Plug, Socket - plug point

I’ve lived in India all my life but I don’t use a lot of the words she mentioned? It could be because I’m from the south. Like for example the English word we use for yoghurt is curds, like an umbrella term.

More than Hindi, Tamil is more close to Korean language and idt i have seen people saying Trousers that much. Most of the time it's pants. Trousers is also used but pants is also very commonly used. About Patloon, idt people say it nowdays. Bus stop and Bus stand are not same. Bus stop is where stops are made for people to wait for buses while Bus stand are places where buses wait to rest.

Indian languages(hindi is not the only language) ,words are pronounced as they are written whereas English and Korean they sound different. For example, enough, gh is prounced as ff sound and not as gh sound. In Thought, the gh sound is not pronounced at all! Korean language, they write mul for water but pronounce it as bul. They have one word having different meaning based on the context. Bae (pronounced as bhae) meaning, stomach, sea etc.. In Indian languages we have several words meaning one word. Like for a tree, written as पेड़ another two words I know are वृक्ष दरख्त.

I think in India mostly they say "washroom" or "restroom" instead of "toilet" and I have no idea why she doesn't even know !

Bus stop means like a small place where you wait for your bus to come. It doesn't mean bus station. Bus station means many buses are parked at a particular time they will leave the station.

Hey dahee is a Hindi word , I kore they ay yoghurt because I think they don't have my original word as yoghurt is not in korean cuisine but yoghurt was already there in traditional Indian cuisine hence in hindi ago nd in English we used curd

Not everyone in India says dhahee for yogurt. Dhahee is a Hindi word. There are many languages in India. We say curd. We call flavoured curd as yogurt.

India has many languages and many regions where things are different, I'm from Karnataka, in the South so it is specific to this region. Let me give the equivalent Hindi words (in the Roman script) and the English words we commonly use. 1. At home, in the case of the attached bathroom we just say "Bathroom" or "Washroom", if the toilet is separate, then we say "Toilet" or "Commode". The Hindi word is "Sauchalay" - Meaning: A place to clean yourself. 2. "Petrol Pump" or "Petrol Bunk" 3. "Trousers/Knickers" for the shorts, "Half Pants" for 3/4s, "Pants" for the full ones. The Hindi word is "Patloon". 4. "Lift" is a common word, and "Elevator" is a Hollywood influence. 5. "Rubber" is a common word, but branding still uses "Eraser". 6. "Electric Plug" is the wire and the "Electric Socket" or "Plug Point" is the one on the wall. "Switch Board" is the entire board containing the room switches and some sockets. 7. "Curd" is actually "Dahee" but is also used for "Yoghurt". 8. "Bus Terminals" are where services start in big cities/important cities. "Bus Stations" or "Bus Stands" are the places (an actual structure) where you go to catch a bus. "Bus Stop" is where buses stop and pick up passengers on the side of the road.

In India I've heard less people call pants a trouser...it is mostly pants, some old people do call it pajama but patloon is like a very old word. I don't think I have heard anyone call pant patloon in normal day hindi

Japanese use consento for electric plug as well. An American would have no idea what that means. It isn’t English at all.

In hindi serials I have seen people saying "washrooms". In my place we call one as toilet and another as bathroom. We say pants, lift Earlier I used to study at a state language school, now I study at an English medium school. So earlier it was " Rubber" And now it's "eraser". It's plug.

we mostly use rubber in australia but also eraser but yep rubber means something in american english lol.😅

For bathroom in Gujarati we use the word 'Mori' , Hindi have words like Snan ghar and Sochalaya , english has started to replace lots of local words

Apparently, there are a lot of similarities between Korean and the Indian language of Tamil. Very different from Hindi, though don't ask me to explain how. In Massachusetts, there are self-service gas station and full-service gas stations. I cannot say which is more common, but I am definitely more used to self-service station and it feels weird to me when someone pumps the gas for me.

"Pataloon" पतलून in Hindi sounds similar to the Spanish "Pantalón" or even the Arabic "Bintaloun" بنطلون meaning pants 👖 or trousers.

Oh god! Socket is not wire girl!! Also we do use restroom word and pants word often. Pantloon is very rural word, i have never heard any generation saying it and am from bengal. We call it pants. And moreover indians arr morr westernized, so naturally we use a mixture of american and british words, and if somebody says we dont say that, then u r wrong!!

Its also not her fault we are leaning more towards western culture which is a shame i am proud that she is representing our language outside but what the insiders like us are doing we are not promoting our own common language we were always like this and thats why foreign invaders come and dare to invade our country we are always fighting among ourselves for languages , culture differences, food , we just do not accept diversity and love each and every kind of thing we got. Respect all of our country people and their diverse nature , maybe that way our people will be more happy , just do not fight among ourselves and lets promote our language sanskrit .
