I keep reading how great and affordable USAA is and their customer service was great for a quote but in Washington State it was much more expensive then other providers like State Farm, Progressive, AAA, or Costco.

Go anywhere else but USAA! They were a great company, but no longer! It is so hard to get anyone to help you…..with an insurance problem or banking problems!

I’m a member of USAA back when I got commissioned in 1982 and after forty years I had never had problems with USAA home damaged or vehicle accidents. 2017 we had a hurricane that passed through Central Florida and I had some damages and they paid me less than twenty days after. I’m paying more for my home and my car, but Upstate New York cost about sixty percent cheaper. Florida is prone to flooding and hurricanes and that’s the reason why it’s more expensive. I have a piece of mind when I travel to foreign countries and don’t have to worry about anything at all.

Geico and Progressive blows USAA out of the water in Florida. Clean driving and USAA would cost almost 50% more if I went with them. I keep checking. Maybe in due time they will be competitive in Florida

I had an auto loan through USAA and i also use them for my banking ,I love USAA. also every accident I've ever been in the other drivers have had Geico and its been hell every time I've had to deal with them. I've personally been in 3 accidents in my life and all of them i was not at fault , just a heads up. if there customer service sucks that bad when their customer hits you i cant imagine what happens if you need their help

USAA has 4 insurance groups. one for military officers and NCO's, one for children of officers or former spouses, one for enlisted personnel and one for children of enlisted or former spouses and 3rd generation of officers (their grandchildren) that 4th group is not available in Michigan. I'm one of the agents who is Michigan trained and licensed so I sometimes have to deal with the health insurance changes that started in the summer of 2020. lots of stuff.

I just switched the opposite direction after being a usaa customer since 2004 and am saving about $100 a month with progressive.

I have been with USAA FOR 34 years. I have always had exceptional service. They gave me a $27,000 auto loan via fax in a foreign country! My home goods were covered even on the ocean. I was even covered under war, or insurrection while stationed overseas. When someone hits my car, I tell their insurance company I am with USAA and usually get no problems from there. Also love my car rental discounts and free upgrades when traveling.

Both GEICO and USAA are currently better than Progressive, State Farm, Allstate and Farmers when it comes to paying/handling personal injury claims. At least that's been my experience in Florida, after having made countless claims with GEICO, USAA, Progressive and Allstate. Justin

I'am Your Newest Subscriber Geico Has Been Ripping Me Off For Years I Wanta Try USAA My Dad Was In The Military And I Need To Get His Military Numbers Before USAA Will Give Me A Quiot. Geico Is Ripping My Off 2011 Chevy Cruze LS And 1999 Astro Van 600.00 Each Per Year For The Very Basic Coverage . My Friend Here in Florida Is Able To SELF INSURE And Pay No Insurance At All He Puts Some Of His Propertys Up For Calladerale And Can Self Insure They Are Vacant Lots He Bought 30 Years Ago 500.00 Here 500.00 Their That He Puts Up

USAA just hit me with a 36% rate hike. I have a perfect record and nothing has changed. They told me that it's a Florida thing. I don't see it. Please re-evaluate versus Geico. I would also like to see a re-evaluation of USAA vs Nationwide.

Had geico suck. Called ussa today no savings. With progressive, lower than both. Geico stayed stay with what you got.

My household has had 3 wrecks in the last few years (2 no fault, 1 partial fault) and every claim was so easy. One phone call and USAA sorted everything out.

My husband & I just received quotes from USAA & Geico today for a newly built home in Texas. Home cost $333,000 USAA wants $2,033 (without foundation coverage, water damage, mold, & earthquake). USAA dwelling was $409,000. Geico quoted me $847 after discounts, dwelling $325,000. I’m just confused why there is such a big difference other than dwelling costs.

That does seem odd but not impossible. Could be that USAA ran a clue report and a previous claim showed up 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you for the reply! Never put in a home claim but Auto yes. I’ll have to call them back so they can explain why it’s very high compared to the other companies I’ve called. There has been mixed reviews from fellow military families that I’ve encountered. When it comes to vehicle accidents, USAA has been poor while home claims, they have done much better. Hoping we make the right decision & your channel has truly helped us! Thank you!

Our home owner calculation tool is out of date and cost toooo much for us to update. They are so poor they stop giving us coffee cups. USAA was investigated by IRS and we had to pay out a lot of money for not following rules and regulations. That’s real reason why they can’t afford to update systems
