How I miss their dynamic from crystal 😢 Rei is probably the dryest character in the reboot, which is a shame cos she still had her attitude in the manga and her coolass backstory
Usagi and Rei's dynamic is fantastic, a lot of people shit on 90s Rei for being a jerk to Usagi, but none will ever truly understand in spite of that she and Usagi are very close and do bounce off each other so well especially when it helps both of them get fleshed out and allows for them to grow overtime, 90s Rei is truly a blessing.
Exactly, and the thing is they actually bicker waaaaay less after the first season and when they do it's more for comedy. When they don't get along in the first season it's actually used as a conflict to BUILD their relationship
I know people find Chibiusa annoying in the 90s anime but I find her and Usagi’s dynamic so hilarious, I love how she’s just like to Usagi “you look weird” and Usagi is like “if you don’t shut yo bitch ass up…”. Also the episode where she spanks her and is the only one she didn’t successfully drug lmao
Lol yeah people always claim usagi is a bad mom but like… she’s trying considering up until basically the end of R usagi didn’t even KNOW she was a mom and also like…. She’s only 14 she is greatly unprepared to be a mom at that age but you can tell she’s trying she always goes off to find Chibiusa when she runs off, she’s always worrying when she gets into trouble, and she spanked her as punishment when she poisoned the girls
im quite sure (90's) Rei had feelings for Usagi but would still support her in her (Usagi) wanting to be with Mamoru At least, that's what I got from their dynamic ... I DO recall reading somewhere that the director of the 90s anime enjoyed Usagi x Rei more than Usagi x Mamoru (which would explain a lot lol)
I used to agree then i rewatched in the new dub and honestly rei is so toxic for almost the first 2 seasons. Maybe later down the line but rei really gaslights Usagi more often for no reason.
Why i lke Rei being so bossy to Usagi in 90's Anime, because it makes every time Rei is praising and cheering Usagi feel very genuine. Because Rei is so critical of Usagi, it means that when she praises Usagi, then it means Usagi did something really good. I think that among Inner Senshi, Rei is the one who respects Usagi the most. So she criticizes Usagi most of the time, because Usagi is self-disprespecting, Rei wants Usagi to have some self-respect and dignity XD
There is something honest about 90s everyone being rude divas. I've seen girls act like this more often than the saccharine perfect "we're all best friends" in most shows.
You know that Chibiusa's hair is pink? Maybe Chibiusa's actual parent is... Rei x Usagi? Considering that Chibiusa often argues a lot with Usagi, maybe she inherited that from her second Mom ^^ Gee, Silver Crystal can make one girl impregnate another.
