RIP Charles White. I was honored to have you in my graduating class at USC. Not the largest or the fastest guy on the field, but easily the toughest. Your Heisman was well earned.
I can't say nothing bad about Charles White. Very unique and talented work horse type of back. When i was 13 and 14 years old in the late 1970s . I watched him religiously , and tried to duplicate his running style, he may not have the best NFL career, , and had his trials and tribulations along the way. But one thing can be said about Charles White, that speaks of his Character. ... He left his mark of the quality of running back that he was... In 1987 he led the NFL in rushing yards. That fact will never be erased. I give him nothing but true respect as a Running back, and as a Man. Charles White never gave up, when he very easily could have. R.I.P. bruh. You are a forever inspiration!
Charles White and I umpired baseball ⚾ together in Orange County between 1998-2004. He was a great guy. I enjoyed talking USC football 🏈 with him when he was a Trojan. He told me he enjoyed umpiring baseball. We worked youth, travel and adult league baseball. I'm not sure but I think he umpired high school baseball also but never with me. He was a good umpire and knew the strike zone behind the plate. As a kid I used to watch him play football for USC in the late 1970's. RIP #12
