Transforming a 20€ volume pedal into an expression pedal with just a splitter. You'll need a stereo jack cable, split one end into two mono cables, and connect this mono to input 1 and output 1. The other end goes into the expression pedal input.

IME you don't need a TRS stereo cable, just use a regular TS mono and connect sleeve only, ie. leave it a few mm unplugged to avoid connecting the tip

When I did this with my Erny ball junior 25kOhm volume Pedal it burnt down the resistor inside … take care guys this hack doesn’t work for all pedals out there !!!

Better yet, you can solder in a Stereo Jack socket and use a TRS Jack than use a Splitter
