This evening we build ourselves a little usb dongle to connect an RC Receiver to the computer so that we can use our RC Transmitters in simulation games such as rc flight sim, drone racing, helicopter etc.

Thanks for this. Made one before my FS-i6x and x6b showed up today. Got it , plugged it in, and changed the setting on the transmitter to PPM, and smartpropoplus saw it right away and started working. Stoked to not have to use the stupid USB cable.

I'm doing the same thing bro. But, Spp just show up random signals, not detecting my Fs-i6. Is there a firmware version requirement for it?

Great video. I have the i6. Can I use the receiver that came with the controller? The one with 2 wires coming of it?

Great tutorial, others are always talking about soldering the ground, I soldered it and unsoldered it from the audio plug and did not see the difference. This is all clear - leave only one wire.

hey! i can't seem to get mine working. is soldering the only thing that will work? i just wrapped the cables around each other but it has way too many other signals i guess. and also, i'm using a gun type of transmitter. is that even compatible with this? if not, how would i be able to make one for those kind of receivers/transmitters?

Hi. Thans for the video. This should work with any transmitter as long that it has a matching receiver, right? One more question, i use a laptop, so it doesn't have a dedicated mic input. The only thing it has is a stereo and mic plug output (all in one hole) for gaming headsets. Will that work too?

if you have a popup asking you "what did you just plug" select microphone, if you don't i would rather recomment using the betaflight passthrough if you have a flight controller, you avoid unplugging everything in your drone and it's only through one usb!

im using my mox reciever that worked good in my quad till i swapped it out. i have a steady 5.1 volts going to it but in smart propro plus it randomly adds more channels which causes the simulator to flip out randomly. any ideas? i even tried upgrading from windows 8 to 10

nevermind you should be getting 5.10 at least i was using a micro quad lipo charger and it only gave out 5.10 if a pin was shorted. some propritary connector or something

Awesome...I'm annoyed I didn't realize how simple this is. Just "wiped" one up in about 4 minutes all while uttering "this is why I don't throw stuff away" lol...hope it works with the ppm/ch1 on my fs-ia6b receiver! I'll find out tomorrow during normal human hours. Thanks for the idea!

forgive me but you connect the jack in the mike input of the pc with only the mass connected ... and the usb cable for the power supply of the receiver .... and how can it work?

Yeah mate just connect your + to usb red, - to usb black and ppm output to the audio jack will work fine :)

When I do this, the signals are randomly varying all by themselves and I keep on getting different error messages one after another. I am also using fs-i6x with x6b.

Sadly no. I've given up and uninstalled SPP. Waiting for my simulator cable now! I just hope that doesn't fail too LOL

try going to menu->system->RX setup->Output mode and then change it to PPM

Cheers man, yeah without going into super amounts of detail what its basically doing is taking the ppm signal through your soundcard and using the software to parse it into gamepad movements so you can use real tactile controllers wirelessly to practice :p

Is stealing power from a USB to get your signal pin twitchy and the software is like Xanax and the Xanax doctor converting the twitching into understandable "talking" ...all this while you're detached from the situation with the freedom to run away without a cord should you catch a case of the twitches...lol

i want to do the exact opposite of this. I intend to use an XBox controller as an RC Transmitter.

You'd have to do 1 of 2 things, 1 connect it to a computer, translate the input into signal and blast it out using a transmitter or open it, solder to the buttons inside and connect that to the transmitter. I think those are the only two ways to do something like that.

I have no doubt that it will work fine on mac, but you'd need to find software like smartpropoplus to interpret the signal and convert it to gamepad input :)

you should highlight that this ONLY works for Drones , not airplanes or helicopters.....if you want this to work for heli's and planes....just spend the $18.20 for the usb dongle.....i mean , really....less than 20$
