I have been smoking cigars and hookah. It gets me out of the house, gives me my own time. I had a huge aha moment while reading about the barriers to quitting. I realized it fills an emotional need of not being lonely or bored, but when I reflected on that, it didn't add up. I think I've been lying to myself. I cannot wait to go to a hookah lounge or sit on my porch to light up... But once I do I feel like I am stuck there for the night and wasting it when I could be doing other things I care about or keep visualizing myself caring about. I love the idea of smoking, but I think I actually hate doing it. It takes away from my family time or time to explore my own passions. That is my aha moment to inspire me pushing for this to be a real quit. I'm gearing up and want to be proud of my self image because sitting in front of a hookah for 3, sometimes 6 hours, does not create any positive feelings in my life. I'm glad to be able to share this.

I struggle with renewing my commitment to becoming a nonsmoker. An experience that has impacted me, however, is committing to not smoking in my house. After 3 weeks, the air was smoke free, and no ashes accumulated on the floor, which I had been slavishly bending over to clean up. That was very FREEING to my person. I also lost some of the guilt because my husband and others weren't inhaling my 2nd hand smoke. I need to build on this. The downside is that I end up chain-smoking outdoors, and therefore not allowing time to accomplish my indoor goals for my day.

My moment was remembering a feeling of accomplishment.. While preparing, by giving myself experiences of not smoking first thing thing in the morning, or not smoking after my typical triggers.. I remembered the experience of feeling accomplishment, how good it feels to complete something that was challenging. (something unrelated to smoking) When my quit date rolled around, whenever I find myself looking for cigarettes, I take myself back to that feeling of accomplishment. Compare that to the short term relief I will get from lighting up. It takes my focus straight to seeking that accomplishment rather than the short term relief and the anxiety literally floats away.. So far so good. My mind shift seems to be working. I am finding it easier than expected so far..

I quit smoking 17 years ago. But I developed a nicotine gum/mint habit. I had the "mind shift" she is talking about when I completely quit drinking alcohol 15 months ago. Because I have had that experience and can be tenacious if I want to achieve something, I know that I can quit the nicotine gum. I have some and I will be cutting down and will never again purchase any when it is gone. I'm thinking that will be in 2-3 weeks. I'm gonna follow this method - having the realization throughout the day that I didn't jump to gum/mint when I needed energy. I also do not plan to replace it with something else - such as Doublemint gum and lifesavers. These can become a habit as well. Also, I think I am developing a rash/sensitivity to nicotine gum. All the more reason to let it go!

Hi I really like your videos. I've failed to stop smoking many times. And I want to try again. It's more then 30 years that I'm a smoker. My question is: tomorrow that I've decided to stop smoking, should I through away my pack of cigarette (I vape) or still keep them with me? Thank you. With your method I feel very positive.

I'm sad to say that I used to quit smoking twelve to eight years ago. 10 months twice during the 4 year fugue. I thought of it as poison during that time. Now I can't remember how I thought that way.

Hi I'm new here and your videos makes sense, but what I'd like to know is a what stage is classed as a none smoke? I'm going to buy two writing books one for stopping smoking and one for not eating junk food as I'm a bad chocoholic, with cakes, biscuits, crisps, jaffa cakes are so norty as well, also every time I make a cup of tea I will smoke two cigs, as cigs and tea go together, like the lady said in your video she spent too much time smoking and drinking cupas, and that's not the best thing really, iv tryed so many times and as soon as I'm stressed I fail, I what to do this for myself but also I don't want to tel family or friends, I want to write about my journey my ups and downs along the way I'm not sure when it will happen I don't want to plan it as its never work before, so one day I will just start it out of the blue but I will have my writing books ready for that day, thank you for your videos they are going to be a great help along the way.

Hi Eddie, we're here to help, and we've had many members who quit smoking after 52, 55 and even 61 years of smoking, so you can do it too! cbqmethod.com/success-stories/ If you complete each quit smoking stage before moving to the next one you will succeed. There's no way to not succeed when you 1) make a committed decision 2) change your mindset around smoking 3) break your habit and smoke your last cigarette so you then 4) condition the change you made. Try to make sure you have completed a stage before moving forward. For example, if you still think of smoking as something you miss, then the mindset has not changed. If you need more help, request the CBQ starter guide at startcbq.com

I fell off the wagon today after 10 days being a non smoker. Sometimes I feel I'm never going to make it to the other side.. maybe I'm just destined to choke myself to death
@CBQMethod
@CBQMethod 9 месяцев назад
Nobody is destined for this. All smokers were born non-smoker and that is our natural state. We are destined to be smoke-free. Falling off the wagon only means something didn't work out and needs more of your attention. I don't know how you quit but the 2 big reasons for relapse are 1) quitting smoking while still mentally addicted 2) lack of preparation

i disagree so much.. time is everything.. as soon as that intense anxiety goes away and will power starts to magically come back i can finally start to live again and look after myself.. after that first week you dont even crave smoking at all, time is literally everything when quitting so im extremely bothered you would say time doesnt change you or make it easier.. i understand that youve probably forgotten.. if youve ever even been addicted yourself.. cause it sure doesnt sound like you have the slightest idea what you are talking about.. perhaps the best time to give quitting advice would be just after youve done it yourself cause you soon forget what it was like and end up giving the wrong advice and saying detrimental things like you have at the start of this video, you need to delete this video seriously because so many people who havent made it through quitting before will hear this and lose all hope and think they are just going to be depressed and anxious and have no will power to change themselves forever.. when in reality aftr just 3 days of not smoking you can expect to start to feel some massive changes in your mental health and cravings and ability and will power to cope and live.. i suppose you make a lot of money off people trying to quit and thats why you are trying to prevent them from thinking they can do it without buying your apparently expensive program.. im beyond disgusted. delete your channel seriously you should be so ashamed of yourself.
