What genius thought it would be a good idea to make half the league red???

I was 8 years old when the original USFL came out. Of course, week 1 of season 1 TV had a New Jersey Generals Game. Without internet or any magazine, I just assumed the Generals colors would be Army Green. I drew all these posters with Generals in Green. Game starts, they come out in Red, lol.

They did a good job of recalling the original decals and colours. Happy with this. Offers some brand recognition for those of us of a certain age.

How could a professional team from Pittsburgh chose colors other that black & gold? (Penguins, Pirates, Steelers) It made Pittsburgh the only city whose professional sports teams had the same color motif. Until now.

NFL from Sept to Feb. XFL + USFL merges both leagues and then from March to August. Football all year around 🙌🏼. Better opportunities for players' development.

My biggest problem with the generals is that the color red doesn't go well with a team named the generals it would have been more interesting if they capitalized the theme by going with an army green color scheme. Favorite by far is the Breakers as they have the most visually distinct of them all.

I like the Maulers uniform. Reminds me of the Franfurt Galaxy and Orlando Apollos. Always liked that color scheme.

The Helmets. Good Job: The Maulers, The Bandits, and The Gamblers, pretty much sticking to the original. Nice upgrades: The Stallions and the Generals. If the league never folded I think the Stallions helmet would eventually look the way it does now in 2022. I like the logo on the Generals helmet, got that pentagon look to it. The WTF were they thinking: The Stars, the Star needs to be tilted and spell out Stars. Needs to go back to gold instead of the yellow. I know Philadelphia fans don't want their team to look like the Dallas Cowboys. The Breakers and the Panthers: Maybe the best-looking helmets back in the day. No reason to change them at all. Someone felt the need to upgrade just for upgrading.

Favorite uniform for me is Philadelphia-the Red and Gold. Best uniform in the league. Nice color scheme

The Maulers' home colors remind me of the WLAF Frankfurt Galaxyof the 1991-92 seasons.

Panthers and Breakers are the cleanest looks to me...from head to toe. Favorite helmet is the Maulers , hands down. Stallions look decent , as well as the generals, and Bandits

I grew up and Detroit and watched all the Michigan Panthers games. But when I say the Houston Gamblers and Jim Kelly fling the ball around, I was hooked.....I remember seeing the New Orleans/Portland Breakers and wondering...what is a breaker...?

I feel there could be more color variation in the uniforms. Several posters on here made mention of too many teams having red. That being said, I think we're in for some great, action packed football. If you like football, please tune in! Let's support this league so it continues for many years to come. Can't wait for tomorrow night's opening game. Being a Philadelphia are resident, I say GO STARS!!

I wonder who is the starting QB for the Generals, did they bring back Flutie or Sipe? Hershel Walker was going to be on the team I heard but when the owner heard he wanted to come to games only by bobsled he was cut.

I would really like to see the teams play home games in their own cities. The Stars should be playing at Lincoln Financial Field!! Hopefully next season they will.

The philidelphia stars logo is actually sick. Their logo is essentially the retro dallas stars logo mixed w vancouver’s flying skate, that has to be influenced just too much of a coincidence. Knocked it out of the park. The jersey, not so much. They shoulda just went full canucks and made it black with red and yellow striping, would have been the best by far but it would’ve been an obvious rip.

Being from Michigan I liked the Panthers with the slight exception being the Panther head I like it mostly burgundy like the old helmet don't like the Blue running through it.

My list for the uniforms I like are Stallions, Panthers, Stars, Maulers, Bandits, Breakers, Gamblers, and Generals.

Can't wait for the pittsburgh Maulers to come to highmark stadium so I can watch a game live, maybe next season it the league lasts that long

My teams so far are Houston/New Jersey. Wish NJ would've made the uniforms less generic looking.

Only teams that look better are Panthers & Generals. All I can say is at least we can look forward to Throwback week uniforms.

I have to Roll with New Orleans Breakers uniform with a close second to Houston or New Jersey. New Orleans design seems so much cleaner and original when contrasted with others. least favorite is the Maulers. not a fan of the block colors

I get the gamblers aren't red they are black and gray mostly but the underlying color is red. So it's 6 teams that include red. Tue maulers have a Denver vibe which I like and the breakers got those ice breaker colors which is cool but a green team would have been great or at least green underlying. Generals probably want to not be the jets but makes the most sense

The Michigan Panthers look like the Florida State Seminoles. The Stars look like Arizona State. The best way to get of that McDonald's crap with the Stars is to win a championship. Win a title and all of that disappears. Winning cures everything and it has a way to shut mouths up.

I cannot tell you how much red, gold, and black I saw. When the New Orleans Breakers came my eyes took a breath of fresh air. The common debate in right now is which is better, XFL or USFL. IMO, it's the XFL. They just have a wide variety of different team variants and I know that the USFL is trying to keep to the tradition of the old days, but come on the teams look obviously different and they don't have a world cup situation where they are all playing in the same exact place. Jeeze it might be five years before I see my USFL team hit my home town, if ever. My question is this: If a merger were to happen between the XFL and the USFL, which teams would stay and go? Because we can't sit here and say oh yes the Houston Gamblers and Vegas Vipers can exist in the same league when if fact they are the same exact colors. This isn't college bowl, it's pro. There needs to be a difference. So which teams change and which teams go? Back to the Houston example, does that city really need two pro teams? And which one goes? The Gamblers have the sickest loge but the Roughnecks feel more in cohesion with the identity of the city. Also, Roughnecks are the only team to have an actual crowd in Houston backing them. Just curious to other opinions out there.

I wish they had tried to design uniforms that looked half as good as college footballs, also color schemes. Feel like college and hs football has better team names, color schemes and combinations. Ex. Oregon Ducks had amazing amount of uniforms and designs. I feel like the USFL played it safe with the names and the color schemes eh... I'm not inspired.

My opinion only but Stallions colors are perfect, maulers should be orange and white maybe? Bandits purple and black, Gamblers maybe a Silver looking color or something, Generals army green? Panthers look good as they are, breakers looks perfect and the stars I feel like they could make the uniforms look gold or burnt gold with white. But that's my opinion, would like to know what others say though.

Only Panthers & Generals Unis are as good as originals. At least we can look forward to throwback week.
