I feel sorry for Vince, AEW is about take the wrestling world by storm come October and XFL looks like it might fail as the UFL.

EXACTLY,...if you dare to be different and you want to at least come across as innovative, for the love of God, put a few teams in some cities that aren't already in the NFL. In a time when money is tighter than ever and the entertainment dollar is already stretched thin,..you are going to ask people that already drop a paycheck to see an NFL game to spend some more money on an unproven league? This is a bad marketing plan. Memphis supports their teams, Birmingham, Mexico City would even be kind of cool. Try cities that are close to big cities in the NFL too. Oklahoma City is a potential target.

@@robminmonaca that might be the single most important difference between the old XFL and this one. The old XFL did have the benefit of an NBC primetime slot but it did not have the kind of legitimate widespread Sports network coverage. Looks like they took the time to bring on respected football people to help organize and run this league. And they are doing it without having to rely on the hype and Buzz pro wrestling had during the early 2000s. Which is a good thin g because the current pro wrestling buzz is strong within the wrestling fan community but isn't as hot on the mainstream level nowadays.

Majority of sports teams are named by the larger television market available. New Jersey is within the NYC television market. That is why both the Giants and Jets although play in NJ, are named after the city for higher revenue.

Houston took the names of the Alberta Canada teams: Edmonton oilers of NHL and Calgary roughnecks of lacrosse. Renegades been done too by Ottawa of CFL. Only team I like are Seattle dragons. Tom Brady can play there so I can get another Brady jersey.

If they get some brains about them, we might end up with teams in some cities that don't have NFL teams. Oakland Smugglers, San Diego Lightning, St. Louis Sheerers, Orlando Wizards, Toronto T-Rex, Charlotte Wasps, Sacramento Monarchs, Vancouver Mountain Peaks. And yes I did 1000% make these teams sound like total D-Grade rip offs of current pro sports teams in those cities.

I understand why they wanted st louis in tho. So maybe the dc team...tho I get why they'd want a team there as well. Tampa?? Well you almost have to be in Florida since the sport is big there. Hopefully its a success and within 5 yrs the league can add cities like Chicago, Pitt or Philly, then you get another mid west team plus another northeast 1.

Honestly i like half the team names. Roughnecks, Vipers, Guardians, Renegades. But the other ones just seem kind of either high school sounding (Dragons and Wildcats), dumb to have one be defenders when you have a Guardians, and BattleHawks? If it was up to me. DC Cavalry - Houston Roughnecks - New York Guardians (Hitmen if people weren't so pc today) - Dallas Outlaws - St. Louis Stallions - Tampa Bay Crocs - LA Rush - Seattle Timberwolves. So yeh i'd change 6 or 7. Still i'll give them the benefit of the doubt, most new teams in any league have people upset with names and new mascots but eventually they grow on you when you say them enough and realize that its only a name and their for the football not the name. And if XFL does well and expands, please consider coming to Charlotte, NC or a city in the Carolinas. For now though, eh screw it. No one can call me bandwagon if they win since no games have been played so GO ROUGHNECKS!!

@@videogameboutique2196 I'm just thinking about it from the 2K perspective. 2K has become a Powerhouse with the NBA series. I think they might be a little more cautious nowadays compared to when they were first getting into the sports gaming Circle. That said I would be all for a game featuring XFL. Vince McMahon should probably try to initiate this. They should also try to attract Johnny Manziel to the league as one possible selling point. That could also in turn help with marketing the video game.

Im so disappointed that citys without nfl teams or pro teams werent used. I think the xfl would be amazing if it did that. Take my home state of Ky. We have a city in the top 30 size wise being Louisville but no pro teams in state due to college basketball being king in this region. Matter of fact only other city in top 30 without a pro team is El Paso, TX. If we had a XFL team I can promise we would appreciate it much more than these other cities that have multiple pro teams.

I know what you mean, but remember that everything is about ratings these days and non of these business executives want to try to build something right off the ground. Also, are there any pro ready built stadiums in your area? Cause if not, that would be a huge burden to the tax payers, especially for a league starting up again.

Depending on what time of year xfl is it could easily use papa John's stadium in Louisville or marketsquare arena as I know an XFL game wouldnt draw as much as a ncaa football game. So if the timing was right then we have 2 cities with stadiums that could easily hold a XFL crowd. Other being Lexington home of the winningest team in college basketball history, but thats the problem so much emphasis on college sports in KY that most people dont even acknowledge pro sports.
