Keep putting out content we've been looking for you. Someone who can explain and straight to the point. Others explain a 5-minute video and still don't explain anything.
@Temple Builders Carpentry aye no doubt bro. I'm a shop teacher, I teach 12th grade Carpentry in NYC, and I'll tell you how much basic math has been lost within our youth. I have to spend time revisiting topics like converting fractions, decimals, and percentages, angles, reading a ruler and basic geometry. You are helping a ton of people by doing this man so thank you!
So with the speed square you mark both woods at 16 degrees and can cut it with a hand saw or is the 16 degree for mitre saw? Im just doing diy at home and have a similar angle..just learning at beginner level. Thanks
Also, if you go the other direction with the speed square, which would give you 58*, you can just add to 90* instead of subtract from 180* which is usually easier to do in the head
so you're saying if you start with the side without the perpendicular base and draw a line on the base and pivot counter clockwise ot would give you 58 with regards to this video and you'd add 90?

Great video bro. To the point. Speedy might be the most underrated tool in your pouch guys. There is a reason contractors have 16 of them in their truck. You can do exactly what he just did with two of them and no pencil line, over numerous applications.

What if you have bumps and dips in walls. I’m still a bit old school so prefer to mark two parallel lines along each wall and draw a line through intersection. I have two sliding bevels to mark left and right cuts. I always cut a little bigger to allow for any deviation in wall and floor and trim accordingly with electric mitre saw.
