Hi Paddy, great video! Would you be able to use this method to analyse private leagues? E.g. get the data for each player's team within the league and then create some insights around who used their chips best, who left the most points on the bench etc?
This is great and got me off to a great start, the issue I found is that something screwy was going on with the data after it was imported. I find the data is correct if I import via power query in excel
This is killer, I've been think'n about starting to use the API to create a team with out my bias. I'm expecting it will end up blow'n me out of my league.
Great video. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. My question is how do I get the teams and their respective fixtures for the season using this data
Hi Paddy, really nice video thank you! Out of curiosity, do you know on which data source the fantasy premier league is based on? is it OPTA? or something else?
Hey Alex, they use OPTA stats www.premierleague.com/news/106533 The BPS utilises a range of statistics supplied by Opta that capture actions on the pitch, to create a performance score for every player.
Hey Paddy. Did you make any videos on how to model this data, or do you have any content/resource suggestions? Thanks mate! Loved the video btw. Easy enough for a mug like me to get the data into sheets lol.
Hey mate, I don't have a draft team myself but it should work in the same way if you send me your league link I'll send you the ImportJSON string that you need to import
Great video, thanks man! Quick question; you don't happen to know why the FPL API often has 1's listed in cell's that should be 0's? For example, yellow cards, there are no 0's; every player seems to have been given at least 1 yellow card, even though most players have 0 yellow cards.
