Thank you! After nearly 2 yrs of frustration and trying to buy a physical remote compatible with the Sonos Beam 1, at last success! Such a convoluted process. The setup separately also on the app was a surprise. Also anyone who cannot find Sonos listed as shown in the video....in their LG C1 OLED....you have to type the name sonos in the box filled ' English only' helpfully obscuring the text box!

Thanks a lot! The key for me was to put all different settings to right setup in right order. Additional comment: if Sonos brand is not listed in deviсe list (1:40) - try to enter "Sonos" to the search field and it will bring it from nowhere.

Followed this and all seemed to work (had the right on screen vol indicators) but didn't work until I unplugged IR blaster from the tv - then worked perfectly. Thanks for the excellent video

You want to hear something funny / cool. LG Support actually uses your 2020 version of this video as reference to people, lol. I have a 2022 LG G2 along with a Sonos Arc. And for the life of me can’t figure out a way to make the magic remote control the volume on the Sonos Arc. Other than that, everything works perfectly fine. So i called LG support to ask for some guidance, maybe i was missing something. After speaking to them for an hour & trying various troubleshooting, they gave up and just told me to call Sonos Support instead. However before hanging up they emailed me a two links. 1 was instructions from their website to try and fix the problem. The other was a link to your video & to follow your steps lmao 😂. I thought that was cool but I had to explain to them this doesn’t work for me. 1. LG has a new operating system. 2. I want to utilize eARC (not optical) Both Sonos & LG support couldn’t help so I just gave up and use my Nvidia Shield remote to control the volume.

I have a 2021 LG OLED C1 tv and I just got a new Sonos Beam Gen 2 sound bar. I connected them with HDMI ARC (which is HDMI2 on LG TV). The sound is great but the Magic Remote for the LG doesn’t control volume on the Sonos Beam 2 ! Beyond frustrating and I don’t want to admit how long I’ve spent trying to get volume to work. Should I give up and buy a separate remove to control Sonos sound or can someone get these to work?!

hello, thanks for your video. i have a question, if you would be willing to give me some direction. I have a new (LG OLED 65 in) tv, and followed your directions and everything works just as you say. At the 2 minute mark of your video, I also get the "+' and ( -) icons on the right of the screen...so everything looks perfect. but at this point when i push the plus and minus on the remote, the icons "blink" on the tv, but nothing happens to the volume. the playbar does not responde to the up or down on the remote. I don't get it. any thoughts? thanks

My old magic remote worked great but my toddler hid it god knows where and I had to buy a replacement. The replacement does not work with my sonos. I set it up exactly like you showed but the IR repeater function is grayed out on my sonos app. I still have my xfinity remote which controls the sonos but still super annoying.

Are you also able to turn on/off the sound bar with the magic remote when you turn on the TV? That's what I'm really after with my non Sono bar and am striking out.

So how do you get the remote to control a new Sonos speaker that’s been added to the existing speakers. I’ve added a 300 Era. The LG remote has no control over the new speaker. I’m not sure if it’s because the new speaker was not added to an existing room. The only way I could add the speaker was by creating a group with 2 rooms. Thx.

Is the process also the same if you're connected through HDMI Arc? It didn't go through my first time trying...

So I did all of this, and I get the. + / - input but the audio levels won’t change, when I go to set up the remote in the Sonos App, it won’t detect the remote. IR is on and the repeater is on. Am I missing anything? I’m getting base level sound on the tv, I just can’t control the volume.

Not working for a playbase and LG OLED 2022 - any other helpful tips of settings I can play around with?

I get to the Universal Control setting page but selecting "manage" I get a message that says "This feature is only available with Magic Remote". I have a magic remote...any idea? I've googled with no luck

This does not work for me, the plus minus is there but the volume only work when the tv is off. The ir repeater option is greyed out and I cannot turn it on. Any ideas? Super frustrated with SONOS

I’ve followed all of the instructions, but despite getting the + and - volume buttons on screen, the volume itself still isn’t changing. Is there anything else I could try?

I can’t toggle on IR repeater in Sonia app (it won’t let me). I get the volume control buttons but still no sound aargh!
