Tracing the lines in pencil first is just common sense. I love this design, especially the way it blends together the many themes of the artwork inside.

It looks great! I love the way you did the border, in classic Japanese design, there's a pattern that represents waves that looks really similar to the pattern you used to fill between the lines, and that looks great and makes a lot of sense if most of your world is an archipelago surrounded by water! Honestly, it just looks so cool and I love all of the world building stuff INSIDE of the book as well. Can't wait to see more!
Omg! This is soo awesome!! What a great idea to make this your own. I have 2 of these amazing journals...a 4x6 brown one and a 7x10 turquoise one. I love the uniqueness of the paper inside and always feel sooo special when I'm sketching or painting in them. The art you are doing in your journals is soo fun! Man this is just awesome. It makes me wanna buy a leather journal just so i can carve into it ! I have linocutting tools sharp enough to cut wood, i guess it would work just as well on leather... I say this everytime but your videos are always so inspiring to me ! I haven't been creating as much lately but I have newfound motivation now :) Would that be to much if I started a channel of my own to share with the world ? Tempting...

Speaking of which, have you ever watched the making-of extras from the three original extended Lord of the Rings films? All the behind the scenes about the sets, costumes, armour, weapons, miniatures, etc.? I think you'd find the artistry and design work involved absolutely fascinating, especially the designs for the Elves, Dwarves and Rohan, ie. the clothes, furniture, buildings and so on.

I Love your approach to creating. Oh this looks nice. No Idea what it is or what it will mean someday cause its all made up but still. Like i felt very anxious at first when you said oh this Compass looking thing can go on the front and i thought but you haven't even figured out meanings for all of it but then i thought to myself: Why worry about it and just do it and that had such a freeing feeling that i kinda surprised myself with that reaction. Anyway i hope you can pull some sense out of there and if not i just wanted to let you know your video had me very much engaged and thinking about my own life in new ways. Much Love.
