Everything should be made ready BEFORE you pull the screw/nail out of your tire. And thats not cement in that kit, its lube, for the tools. Its meant to apply to the rasp and and needle. Pull the nail/screw out, insert the lubed up rasp and enlarge the hole. Leave the rasp inserted in the tire until youre ready to insert the plug. Then quickly pull the rasp out, and insert the loaded needle. This way youre not losing any more air then necessary. The idea here is to keep as much air in the tire as possible. If this happens on the road, you have to at least prepare for the possibility you don’t have a compressor with you or it breaks while using it. Personally, i have a small compressor, a plug kit, a can of fix-a-flat, AND a spare in the back of my car. Cause ya know, shit happens.

I wanted to let you know that I had to use a tire kit again on another one of my tires, and I remembered this post. I was quick while I did it and the tire was at 42 psi, and I moved as fast as I could, and the tire was at 38 psi when to plug was in. Thanks.

I used my kit yesterday, and the exact same things happened to me. Handle came off, didn't make the hole big enough, literally everything that happened to you. I did take the disc thingy off the plug tool though. Decent kit I guess

This has been my most utilized Amazon purchase ever. Its literally like each one of those black sticks is a 20 dollar bill. I could probably make a ton of money by driving around with a lift, this tire kit, and a portable air compressor.

It’s much easier than how he shows (oops I forgot the cement)

Man, he was supposed to use the lubricant on the reamer (he called it the stabber). The he was supposed to use the lubricant on the plug installation tool before insertion. As someone said here, yea that was painful to watch!!!

For what it’s worth, those plugs have been holding up fine even without the cement.

@hordebutcher2651 Didn't say it was not going to hold, but the Lube makes it easier to poke through tire

I know I shouldn't have but I did get a good chuckle out of this video especially when the handle came of the plug tool. The video is still instructional in that it showed plugging a tire is not rocket science. I have to say that plugging a tire does require some level strength. As an aside, how is the plug holding up now that it has been in your tire for over a year?

It held up amazing. I ended up plugging a few more leaks in my other tires before I finally traded the car in a few months ago

It’s been amazing. Another note is that this is probably the best return on investment on anything that I ever purchased on Amazon. Those little black sticks are literally 20 dollar bills, if you think about what tire shops charge to plug a leak.

the more air the tire has in it, the easier it is to insert the tools. Also helps to use the included lube on the tools before hand. If you have a small air compressor with you, maintaining air should bt a non issue. This guy took his time and let all the air out, making life miserable.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to remember this for next time.

Need to be careful with that tire. Plug was outside the safe zone.

Honestly, I think the safe zone is a bunch of bullshit. The red areas on the chart are where they build the tires the weakest! Of course you never get a flat in the safe zone of a tire. It’s one big scam.
