Loved the first live stream on Astrophotography. Living here in town I've gotten to attend several lectures there in the basement but with live streaming and RU-vid I don't have to miss any. I really appreciate the expand info on star trackers in this video especially on the counter weights on the iOptron Sky Guider. I was trying to decide between the Sky Tracker and the Sky Guider. Now I know which way to go. Thanks.

Ever since spending time every summer growing up in the Bitterrrot Valley and being able to see the Milky Way for the first time I’ve loved the stars! I took my first Milky Way shot ever in Darby, MT and I’ve been planning to try to make a diy tracker in hopes of getting a tracked shot. Thank you so much for your instructional videos, they have been incredibly helpful!

This would be awesome to get to the next level. My 14 yr old is excited to start shooting more Astro nights with me it’s brought us so much joy and closer together. She was actually showing me this item the other day. I was surprised at the research she’s doing on her own and planning our next night out. This would be a wonderful surprise if we won this. Best of luck to all.

Living in the amazing state of Wyoming, I have little to no light pollution and can't wait to begin astrophotography. I use a Canon 1DX for my wildlife photography, but have no astrophotography equipment to go with it. This has long been a bucket list item for me. Since my stage 3 cancer diagnosis, I've been working down my bucket list and would love to be able to cross astrophotography from that list.

I have dabbled in the realm of astrophotography once before at the international dark sky park in northern Michigan and had so much fun doing it. I was able to capture the Milky Way but it took too much editing to be able to truly see the outstanding nature of it. With a tool like this I would be able to capture much more amazing photos of the stars!

Great video! You really packed a lot of information into 12 minutes. And nicely organized and edited too. It was all surprisingly easy to follow. Now I feel like I definitely need to expand my astrophotography horizons. I’ve only done stationary, single image shots of the night sky so far but have always been curious about the process you described here.

Nice concise description of how to install and align a tracker. I've taken several Milky Way images, including a panorama, and I think successfully, but all w/ hi-ISO and ~20 sec exposure times, and stacking 25-50 images for noise reduction. Last winter I purchased very long telephoto and one night I turned it on to the Orion Nebula, but couldn't get a long enough exposure time for any kind of usable images. Been looking at getting a tracker ever since, specifically either of the iOpterons you discussed. Your video removed most of the apprehension I was having when contemplating the alignment. Thanks so much,

Astrophotography provides an amazing backdrop that is not only uniquely beautiful , but also gives earthly compositions an exquisitely galactic scale. It’s ability to capture a piece of our small blue dot against the enormous cosmos around us is beyond measure. To see so much more than we can with the naked eye is one of the things I love about photography. It would be awesome to add such a tool to my kit and explore this universe of light around us even more.

Going beyond the single well-planned Astro shot. Tracking seems so natural an evolutionary step to the next level! Great video. NOT ANNOYING!!! Voice is very nice. I took a night photography course from Kate Silva in North Carolina, and we tried to photograph the Milky Way in NC, by Asheville, last summer. Too cloudy, but Kate had that equipment and it worked great, when we could see the stars. Would love to get more into night photography, since I am not a morning person. We live near a beach and perfect place to see stars on a clear night.

Your video was concise and to the point in how to use the iOptron. High marks. Like me, you have a love of recording the beauty of the heavens. Currently, I'm in the process of getting a local county park recognized as a Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association. Not only do I have to convince the IDSA that the park is worthy of the designation, getting local residents and businesses onboard is of equal value. In a rural county with limited resources, good marketing goes a long way in peaking interest and raising funds. Since pictures speak volumes, beautiful photos of the celestial sky would be a great way to peak interest in our efforts and to convince locals that preserving the night sky is a deserving venture. Either way, thank you for your video. It addressed many questions I had in properly setting up for equatorial astrophotography. Best wishes in your endeavors. Robert

I was trying the astrophotography, but the tracking was always my problem, and stacking short exposure pictures does not add up the signal, but gives me the average. Thanks for the instruction and demonstration.
