Yes use the Tractor beam to deflect away the Jem Hedar Poloron beam so it only hits 50 percent of the time that way the Cerritos might have a chance of winning. Just like the Defiant did to Klingon phasers in DS9 when they were rescuing the Cardassiens delicates from Klingons.

Cerritos got that 4 mk 7 phasers but 4 photon torpedo tubes, idk, I don’t see it being able to do much damage (if any) to even a fighter, but the Cerritos is such an absolute tank with it’s dedicated shield regenerative unit, and it’s base hull being comparable to a galaxy class nearly. To be fair though the tactical variant should absolutely stomp, it’s got the same shields as the engineering variant, however has type 10 phasers (assuming, since nearly EVERY tactical refit either gained phaser cannons like the Maranda refit/defiant, or type 10 phasers).
After I saw this, you definetely needed the tactical variant to win against a Jem Hadar fighter. You mentioned the "Odyssey". What about a "rematch" here on the channel? A Galaxy Class (with actually effective shields against the polaron weaponry) vs 3 Jem Hadar fighters or alternatively 3 Danube class runabouts against one Jem Hadar fighter. Rio Grande, Mekong and Orinoco for that matter.
To be honest the attack ships would lose to the Cerritos, it’s a weaker version of the enterprise A (the attack ships) with essentially runabout level shields. The Cerritos would actually likely wreck them. Its shields are post dominion war, with a specific shield regeneration unit, far more shielding to begin with, stronger weapons, etc. since it takes place dominion war and after, it’s a safe bet they’re using type 10 phasers, they would obliterate an attack ship. We know it’s weaker than the titan, however, the titan has quantum torpedoes, so

I'm surprised that the Federation didn't make something similar. It's great at draining shields. The California class is more advanced, but it's not built for war. I agree... it's 50/50.

The Dominion would easily see that the loss of 150 Starfleet personnel was worth losing 5-10 Dominion soldiers. Also, on a resources level, you can probably build about 5-10 of those stripped down bug ships for the resource level of every 1 California class (and you can probably build more of them at a time as well).
isn't the california class mod already available for remastered? I have it in my remastered game already. (though i may have taken the one for KM and edited the projectiles to work for RE, i don't remember anymore it's been a while)
